vn35 Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Congrats!! Very nice letter that you wrote there. Also, thanks for providing this forum for great musings about investments and life, too :) Jim
muscleman Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Congrats Sanjeev! I envy you that you have so many star investing friends! :)
rranjan Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Congratulations for doing what you love for the last 7 years and doing it so well. I am 100% sure that you won't trade your experience with anything else. For business, the next 7 years will be lot easier than your first 7 years but you are likely to remember first 7 years bit differently.
constructive Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Congrats Sanjeev! Given your performance, hard work and great attitude, I'm sure your clients appreciate you a lot! Good luck for the next 7 years.
woltac Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Sanjeev, Congratulations on your 7th year anniversary and thank you for providing the only investing message board that I read daily. I wonder how much in assets the members of the board collectively manage. :)
Investmentacct Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Congratulations on 7th anniversary. Best wishes for many more great years ahead. You are one of the most down to earth and humble person I know. Thank you for all you do. Rgds.
leftcoast Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Congratulations to you and your investors! And thanks for building and maintaining the best community of value investors on the internet. I believe this board has had a life-changing impact on a lot of people.
Palantir Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Why don't you start a public mutual fund...? There may be a lot of interest.
greenfile Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Hi Sanjeev, congratulations from Germany!! I never posted anything before, not one sentence, but I was reading a lot on this message board during the years. Thank you very much for this generous supply of thoughts. This is a great message board for sharing ideas. Maybe, I will post more in the future, when the next "once in a lifetime" market opportunity will arise. Lady Luck is at my side, since I am a value investor. Hehehe... Maybe, I shouldn`t call myself a value investor. But I`m a disciple of value investing, learning all the way with a humble and modest approach. Greetings from Germany Lukas
Parsad Posted May 19, 2013 Author Posted May 19, 2013 Sanjeev, Congrats and thank you for the board and the your annual shindigs in Toronto. Are you still planning on a more focused fund? Packer The focused fund is out. We have an area that most people don't want to participate in, whereas focused funds with lockups exist everywhere. I think we'll appeal to the investor that wants outsized, risk-adjusted returns, but still can have access to their capital and the investor will be able to sleep well at night. Cheers!
Parsad Posted May 20, 2013 Author Posted May 20, 2013 Why don't you start a public mutual fund...? There may be a lot of interest. Too restrictive...fixed MER's...higher frictional costs. Cheers!
Grenville Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Thanks for posting the letter! You've been a great inspiration to me and have helped encourage me on my path of investing. Thanks for setting a great example of doing things the right way and with a long term focus. It's been great watching you interact with partners, message board members, investors and others in the field. A great learning experience!
berkshiremystery Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Congratulations to your 7th anniversary of the funds and your marvelous returns beating the market. The next 7 years will probably outshine the first years, if slowly a wider crowd discovers the funds. You might even miss your startup years then.
kmukul Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Thanks for running this board, its a really good learning experience.
mysticdrew Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 I echo the many congratulations and appreciation mentioned before me.
