  1. Jason, One path to consider is crowd-funded real estate. Equity Multiple has several Opportunity Zone offerings and just announced a new one yesterday. https://www.equitymultiple.com/opportunity/ Cheers, Paul
  2. Both these were great. Two others that he did away from finance and that introduced me to two fascinating people are his interviews with Jocko Willink (ex-Navy SEAL, has his own great podcast where he reads from military history books, amazing stuff, start chronologically) and Peter Attia (who I've already mentioned here often). Jocko Willink being interviewed by Patrick O'Shaughnessy sounds interesting, but I couldn't find that episode. Did it happen?
  3. Patrick O'Shaughnessy interviewing Bill Gurley is always a fascinating conversation. This one on IPO finance was particularly illuminating for me. https://pca.st/bn7ceysc Invest Like the Best has become my favorite financial podcast, partly because Patrick is not afraid to stray away from finance in search of interesting conversations. His interview with Boys Varty is my favorite in that vein: https://pca.st/iU9U Cheers
  4. Thanks for the reminder / recommendation on this one. Just bought it and am reading as of today. Enjoy! Let me know how you like it. Fascinating thus far. I'm reading Aerial Attack Study (Boyd's book) as part of reading this book. He's a very clear writer - such a talent. The section on evading missiles is easy to understand and I imagine is still somewhat useful today. Boyd reminds me of Richard Feynman in his clarity and quick identification of bs.
  5. Thanks for the reminder / recommendation on this one. Just bought it and am reading as of today.
  6. Perhaps when "madness of the crowd" goes right? Exactly. Ironic in these times, right? Perhaps a bit of a double-edged sword.
  7. A couple of books that caught my attention recently are: - Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind by Yuval Noah Harari - this is one of those books that I found hard to put down - its a fascinating narrative of human history, well told. One of the author's more insightful conclusions is that one of humanity's unique strengths is in communicating and collaborating in larger groups (and in other ways). The author's discussion of the tie between agriculture and the "domestication of humans" was also thought-provoking. - The Gene: An Intimate History by Siddhartha Mukherjee - fantastically interesting. One random thing that I learned from this book is that every human has a common (female) ancestor, known as "Mitochondrial Eve". She lived in Sub Saharan Africa ~100,00-200,000 years ago.
  8. Google caches Seeking Alpha Pro articles in their original version (which SA apparently posts for free for some temporary period). Example: https://seekingalpha.com/article/4122501-charter-communications-deal is a Pro article, and https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:-cmUqhmNTpwJ:https://seekingalpha.com/article/4122501-charter-communications-deal+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us is the cached version of the full article. To get to page 2, just add ?page=2 to the end of the URL ( ex. https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:-cmUqhmNTpwJ:https://seekingalpha.com/article/4122501-charter-communications-deal?page=2 ). Cheers! Paul
  9. Interesting letter and commentary. Thank you for sharing it. I can only imagine what this letter's present-day equivalent might look like, and I imagine that there are many...
  10. Paul, Lunch sounds good but I don't land until the early evening tomorrow. I'm up for coffee/beer both Friday and Saturday evenings. Cheers, Eric Sorry to miss you at lunch Eric - will you be attending Yellow BRKers or Whitney Tilson's cocktail party?
  11. Would anyone like to have lunch tomorrow (Friday May 5th) at 12:30p in Omaha? This place looks pretty good: https://www.yelp.com/biz/kitchen-table-omaha?utm_campaign=www_business_share_popup&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=(direct) Cheers, Paul
  12. I use BeyondCompare from Scooter Software. It works for most formats (pdf, XML, text) commonly used for filings. It is $50 or so, but well worth it.
  13. I have an extra pass for this year's annual meeting if someone on the board needs one. Paul
  14. I would definitely be interested in a pre-AGM shuttle. I'm leaving almost immediately after the AGM, so post-AGM wouldn't work for me. Thanks for helping to organize this Sanjeev. Paul
