Feels like a temporary headwind to me - whatever happens they'll remain the lowest cost way to buy clothes. As a Shopper, I prefer Sierra trading outpost, which is owned by TJX. There is so overlap between ROST and Sierra, but it’s not exactly the same. Edited May 27, 2025 by Spekulatius

I love that guy - made a fortune two separate times on that 500 year old company! Yep that’s the guy. Has done well with Leonardo as well. I like him a lot as well. Think swatch might be too hard though. Will be rooting for him though.9

If I recall correctly, he had a couple of fantastic years on small capital, and a lousy decade after that, but I may be mistaken. Thank you.
hasilp89 Posted May 27, 2025 Posted May 27, 2025 @Marco Van Basten his 2024 letter says 10.8% since inception but it doesn't provide further details.

Saluki Posted May 27, 2025 Posted May 27, 2025 Bought a few call options on PETS. If it has a good quarter it might spike upwards the same day like it has in the past, and if it has a mediocre quarter, the price is already beaten down so much that it's probably an okay lottery ticket. I have a few shares of the common at average cost of a little under $5 to keep an eye on it. It's $3.75 now, so the common looks cheap if they can remain profitable for a few quarters and sell themselves to someone bigger, but if not that cash pile is a melting ice cube, which is what keeps me from buying more of the common.

John Hjorth Posted May 28, 2025 Posted May 28, 2025 Added a bit today to : MC.PA - LVMH-Moët Hennesy Louis Vuitton SE. Started two new small positions in tiny Danish community banks : HVID.CPH - Hvidberg Bank A/S, & DJUR.CPH - Djurslands Bank A/S, - - - o 0 o - - - After which I think I'm finally done snooping around out in the 27th potato row of the Danish banking field, and I am now crawling back from the middle of nowhere, to the city where the famous Danish poet Hans Christian Andersen was born - Odense - which city is also in the middle of nowhere.

For the first time ever, I will take my kids to Europe next April, I was thinking Paris and the chateaus around it - Blois, Vaux le Vicomte, Fontainbleau, Chartres, Chantilly, Chenonceau, Amboise, Chinon, etc.. Holland will probably have to wait until 2027

John Hjorth Posted May 29, 2025 Posted May 29, 2025 @adventurer, In what I call 'the big 5', right now 69,69 percent, 6 positions at 3 - 4 percent, and that part consists 20,73 percent, the rest does not really matter much but contains a lot of names in miscellaneous stuff, where I from time to time use basket approach, i.e. Swedish real estate, Danish small commmunity banks recently. [Percentages at yesterdays closing prices].
Saluki Posted May 29, 2025 Posted May 29, 2025 I half of my TAYD starting at the end of last year, which was good timing. Picked up a few shares today. Bought a few ITM SWBI calls yesterday and today that expire in 2027.
