My mother immigrated from Latin America at 19, she learned to speak perfect english. She worked hard to study to become a citizen. She is hugely nationalistic from her home country, but she was so proud the day she became an American citizen. She would never carry the flag of her home country in protest of our country, America, that has been so good to her. Her values of hardwork, meritocracy, love of freedom & liberty, etc, etc - ARE American culture. None of that existed in the country she left - a typical dictatorship. But we have seen in America, when you import millions of foreigners with no plan of assimilation- they will spit in your face, fly the flag of the country they fled - and tell you that you're a racist. The melting pot only works when it is take seriously by both the host & the immigrant. We have lost that in America. I hope you don't lose it in Britain. Again, bullshit! There are millions of immigrant Americans, including illegals, who built a life in the U.S. and were very proud to live there...not unlike your mother. There are also millions of U.S. born citizens who fly the flags of other countries, look to leave their country rather than change it and are no longer proud of what it stands for. So patriotism isn't necessarily a citizenship thing! Cheers!

UK immigration began in the early 1900's eventually hitting the 17% of current population that was born outside of the UK. Even the original UK population was an amalgamation of Scandinavian, Roman and Northern tribes. And if you think immigrants haven't influenced UK culture, then why do you have like six Eastern European news stations, a couple of Al Jazeera stations and a slew of other minority channels. The number one dish in your country is Chicken Tikka Masala...even ahead of Fish & Chips, Hot Pots and Scotch Eggs! Cheers! UK culture and traditions does not begin in the early 1900s. Even then, the immigration that you are referring to was so so tiny that it had no effect on demography. By the year 1950, the UK was still 99%+ white / British, by 2000 the UK was still 95% British / White. The immigration of early Britain was nearly all from North-West European, and they were completely assimilated. And even then some of that immigration was terrible, the Vikings in particular were a menace.

This is one thing that always baffled me. We have a guy working with us, he came to the country two years. Lovely person. But he tells me he is out protesting and flying the Palestinian flag in the city centre each weekend. Sorry, but why come here to protest. I would never do that in someone else’s country. If you aren’t satisfied with the laws and culture - LEAVE. We are having more public areas made dog free because Muslims think they dirty - I mean come on.

Arresting people without reasonable suspicion of committing a crime is also not due process. In fact these examples are the exact opposite of due process, as ruled by courts for decades. I could go on but really, at some point the juice is simply not worth the squeeze. did they get deported? If not, and they got released, then they did in fact get due process even if it was slower than you would like. They proved they were citizens. Not nice for them, but these are the new rules. I’d be telling citizens to be carrying ID - always. A lot of these people complaining just don’t want deportations and are hiding behind ‘principles’ and ‘due process’ to thwart it when they had little regard for either in the recent past. Edit - for example, ‘rapist in chief’. Was he criminally convicted of rape? You talk about due process, perhaps you could afford some to Trump if those are your ‘principles’. I feel like I am being held to higher standards than federal agents responsible for arresting, detaining, and deporting American citizens Looks to me like the term "Rapist" is appropriate: Quote https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donald_Trump_sexual_misconduct_allegations In November 2022, Carroll filed a suit against Trump for battery under the Adult Survivors Act. On May 9, 2023, a New York jury in a civil case found Trump liable for sexual abuse and defamation against Carroll, but found him not liable for rape. They awarded Carroll US$5 million in damages.[18] In July 2023, Judge Kaplan stated that the jury had found that Trump had raped Carroll according to the common definition of the word as they had ruled that Trump had forcibly and nonconsensually penetrated Carroll's vagina with his fingers.[19] New York state's definition at the time defined rape as solely nonconsensual penetration of the vagina by a penis.[20] A September 2023 partial summary judgment again found Trump liable for defaming Carroll Trump filed a countersuit against Carroll, but the judge dismissed the case and wrote that Carroll's accusation of "rape" is "substantially true".[80] The judge above has ruled that it is not defamation to call Trump a rapist.

In fact, based on quality of life, Canada ranks higher than the U.S. in almost every study. We aren't a melting pot...we support multiculturalism...and it works. We also don't have a narcissistic, womanizing, pedophile as our leader. In fact, none of the potential leaders of any of our parties are one...doesn't matter if you are left wing, right wing, or straight up the middle. I guess that's something that the U.S. definitely has on us! Cheers!

In a civil trial no less, not even criminal, likely because it couldn’t possibly hold up to a criminal standard.

Cheers! I found the source of your graph and this is what it says: ”There have always been episodes of migration to Britain but, as this paper demonstrates, those episodes were small and demographically insignificant until the Second World War.” From the same source: ”It has been asserted that 'the basic human stock of England has been settled and relatively homogenous since time immemorial’[4] but there have always been some movements of people to (and from) Britain.” The Windsor’s were from Hanover - ONE family from the area of North West Europe that nearly all immigrants to the UK came from. The UK was not, until very recently, a multi-cultural or multi-ethnic society. This is lefty revisionism. Edit - I just checked the ethnicity of these migrants, nearly all were North West European, people’s as close as you can get to being British without being British, and for the most part readily assimilated leave no balkanised enclave. Asylum laws have been reinterpreted to give people who are obviously economic migrants asylum. Examples in the UK are Muslims claiming they are Christian to escape persecution - when in fact they continue to practice Islam. Yes; that is why they are called "illegals".

That is but one of many reasons why Trump was elected US President. Doesn't change the meaning of "illegal" but should be a harbinger of things to come as to the concept of "enforcement". There should be a simple standard for anyone wishing to enter our (or any) country: a willingness to honor that country's laws and practices. Leftists have made a mockery of this standard and waning support is precisely what they deserve. Edited July 22, 2025 by 73 Reds missed word
