I'll never forget when the heat building up around Greenland for POTUS, great European countries stepping in, rooting for Denmark [good legwork by my PM Mette Frederiksen, not giving in, one whit], POTUS directly lying in public for the mics to news media about 'ongoing discussions about a solution' with Denmark [nothing, absolutely nothing like that going on!], while what he wanted, he already had access to! - Next thing he just stops talking about it, moving on to the next wild thing! - No victory on that! -Absolutely unbelieveable to me personally, that somebody would engage in defending such behavior, even calling it 'genious'! -So much for that! I do believe that the way NATO works is that if any NATO country is attacked, the rest go to it's defense. I don't think it says .... if one country takes it upon itself to attack another country, the rest of us are obliged to come and bail you out. "You break it,you buy it" You have belittled, insulted and threatened just about every other country in NATO. You have delighted in inflicting financial pain on the very countries you are now demanding to come to your aid after starting a war with which you obviously had no end plan. Nothing like that ever happened. Nothing even close. Carney went to the White House once, shortly after the election in May 2025. He spent an entire half day there and was polite and cordial the whole time.

"You break it,you buy it" You are correct, that's how article 5 is written: Article 5 of NATO commits member states to collective defense, treating an armed attack against one ally as an attack against all, with each member deciding individually how to respond.
