F Minor (all the movements) is great! G Minor too. I'm hoping to land and expand and find some other stuff I like - I have enjoyed some Rachmaninoff in the past. I recently got captured by Chopins prelude in e minor. It's a big departure from Bach or Rach but I find it irresistibly short and sweet. I turn it into a LoFi number with a groovebox. Seymour Bernstein can be a bit of a dick, but he plays Chopin well.

Excellent! I do like that. Chopin is great.

Saw them as a support act for The Smashing Pumpkins. Amy blew me away, she epitomises why live music is so compelling. Energy levels through the roof. In this age of auto tune it so refreshing to have some punk vibes again . Another favourite at the moment is Fontaines DC (Dublin, Ireland) for similar reasons. @nwoodman I have their Esentials track on my phone but when you watch their live acts it’s on another level. Pure energy. Reminds me off me of Iggy Pop in his day: It’s on my bucket list to see them live one day.

Lyrics are fantastic and Vedder's voice remains solid! Cheers! Attending a concert and watching Neil Young and Crazy Horse jamming is how they decided to put Jam in the band's name. Here is Pearl Jam jamming with Neil Young. Edited September 21 by boilermaker75

Almost got my chance a week ago as they were doing a one night new album (Cartoon Darkness) release at my “local”…..unfortunately two days after we departed for a holiday in Indonesia . Their touring schedule has been frenetic, amazed they found time to get the new album done at all.
Spekulatius Posted September 28 Author Posted September 28 I love this old restorations old performances on YouTube. This one is a classic from Deep Purple when hard rock as we know it was born : The vocals and the classic organ are awesome.

But can anyone play a miniplayer organ better than this: Ray the Man Manzarek! Cheers!
DooDiligence Posted September 28 Posted September 28 (edited) How come the Doors didn't have a bass player? Because. Ray Manzarek's left hand. My other favorite trio (they did have a bass player). I wore down some needles playing this album back in the day. The intro was played on an ARP 2600 synthesizer (probably with a tape delay). Edited September 28 by DooDiligence
Spekulatius Posted September 28 Author Posted September 28 (edited) Yeah, that Rush piece is pretty good. When you watch the rush piece (which is real Hard Rock, imo) you can see the evolution from the early Hard Rock of 1970‘s Deep Purple (still a bit embryonic) to the 1976 Rush version. What I found happening now availability of music streamers and YouTube, that many musicians I glossed over because ai listened to a few things on record and just didn’t like then and never revisited again now check out again and like it a lot. RAMMSTEIN is one example where I downloaded their entire catalogue. I knew them more than 20 years ago, but their Metal wasn’t my thing. Now I find them awesome. I guess I just didn’t have the right mood when I checked out an album in a record store back then. Break out to the other side is one my favorite Doors records and yes the Organ makes the song so remarkable with it providing the sound harmonies and the beat at the same time. Awesome stuff. My daughter used to have a condo near the Whiskey and on her way to work one day she took a quick shot of the billboard. One day I was walking down Santa Monica BLVD and I noticed this plaque. The Doors are one of my favorites. @DooDiligence is correct about Ray's left hand being the bass when they played live. They used studio bassist on their albums. The LA Women album bass player was Jerry Obern Scheff.

Rammstein is obviously known for the visuals at their shows, but I think that reputation overshadows their music to an extent. Like you, I am a fan. Among other things, they incorporate keys into hard rock/metal as well as anyone, and far better than most. -Crip

Especially for mid keyboard players like me.
DooDiligence Posted September 28 Posted September 28 (edited) I like DJ music. I prefer when they actually play a few synths and grooveboxes but this'll do. If you like jazz, she's a treat. edit: I use a Digitakt, MiniFreak and Hydrasynth 49 rather than just triggering and mangling samples with a laptop and mixer, but she looks way better doing her thing. Those mixers are stupid expensive. Edited September 29 by DooDiligence
