AzCactus
I have recently been a big reader here of a ton of posts regarding the economy, when it will reopen, how it will reopen and how behavior will change. There are at least two big hurdles, the first is states announcing that places are reopen and people can (have the right to) go to certain places. The second and IMO the bigger hurdle is the mindset of the consumer. Will he/she jump right back into action and behave how they were behaving two/three months ago ? My question for you is what activities would you immediately reengage in and which would you hold off on? On a personal level, I am in Arizona and I think I would wait at least a couple of weeks and slowly begin some "normal" activities such as eating out, shopping etc. based on the data provided. However, there's no chance in hell you would find me in a bar, concert, sporting event etc. until at lest Christmas time. David
orthopa
I plan on going back right away to everything. I am in a low risk category with no co morbidities. Best time in AZ would be summer time to do some of those activities. Christmas time vs summer time may put you at more risk of contracting it. username
Happy hour. Closest thing to injecting disinfectants. :) Would also look for a flight to Spain/Portugal before Septembre if prices are low. Guess bars and airbnb apartments will be really cheap.
Jurgis
Shopping (TJ Maxx) once a month or so choosing time when store is not packed (would hate to stand in line to enter the shop too). Nothing else really that we are not already doing. We are already going for walks, going grocery shopping once a week, going to hardware stores when we need something, ordering food for delivery. I will not do anything else (like meeting with friends, eating out, going to public events, going to activities where a number of people meet) until MA infections drop to ~200 per day and deaths drop to ~ <5 per day. ( https://www.mass.gov/doc/covid-19-dashboard-april-28-2020/download ). Or vaccine or cure is available. I may change my opinion though.
gfp
For me it is good sushi from the restaurant (dine-in). Take-out sushi / delivery is just not the same experience.

Nomad
As things normalize, one thing I won't be doing - if I can avoid it - is commuting. I plan to push my managers hard to work from home for as long as possible. The improvement to my quality of life by not having to dress up in a suit and shuffle into the office has been immense. Gregmal
Hoping to win one of those All-In-Challenge Auctions https://www.fanatics.com/all-in-challenge/x-12589906+z-9713580-3838082054 Some pretty awesome once in a lifetime stuff. Unfortunately, I couldn't find "Blow Coke Off A Stripper's Ass With Hunter Biden" or "Tag Team a Porn Star With POTUS"... as such, I'll probably just have to settle for normal stuff when things re-open. Probably dining out with the family would be first thing to do. And then do it a bunch more.

rb
I know. But now that you mention it, in college you would tag team a chick with a 74 year old dude that wears makeup? In all seriousness now, for dining out I would pick some place with a simple menu like a steak house. Otherwise you're gonna get a lot of sorry we're out of that. Jurgis
In terms of what I am not doing for a long time: flying somewhere. Apart from being locked in a plane with hundreds of other people, I don't think I can handle having mask on for 4-6-10 hours. Plus the airplane air makes me sneeze profusely every time I fly. So I'd be considered bio terrorist half through the flight. ::) :'( #FirstWorldFlyingProblems

People are talking about a 3-4 hour process at the airport. This is the year for a staycation in your own country (at an extortionate price)! The certificate you get a couple days before. If everyone is wearing a mask, why would there be a need to have meters of distance in the queue? makes no sense. temperature checks take a second, and more likely, they will be done by flir cameras so you won't notice it until someone taps you on the shoulder for being too hot. Fair enough. Might just be then. I find airports to be places of misery at the best of times. Unfortunately have to travel transatlantic to visit family. Fingers crossed I won't need to do that until maybe some of the restrictions/changes/etc go back to (mostly) normal. #ThoseNetJets! Spekulatius
The economy is sort of open already here in MA and in Southern NH. Our son meets with friends outside every once in a while. I think we are going to do some local trips here in summer. , perhaps to the Berkshire’s or to Vermont (assuming they will have us). My wife currently can’t get vacation, but I think she ought to be able to get some this summer before the second wave comes in. Lots of restaurants here have converted to outdoor seating, which I actually think it is a great idea and I hope it stays even when this thing is over, of course this is weather permitting. Somehow we should try to make lemonade out of lemons.
