  1. Yep, just a few year behind the US in some regards. Further down the road in other regards.
  2. Unfortunately 20% of Congress do
  3. This softly approach, how has that been working out for the US? It’s not like people are getting angry over nothing. There are a bunch of scum in our society who think they can do what they want including cold blooded murder. What’s worse is there is a cohort of excuse makers for this behaviour. Shoplift - nah don’t prosecute that. Sure he only assaulted a few people - let him out for the 10th time. Ah right - he’s murdered someone - he’s mentally ill and must be treated humanely. All the excuse makers are facilitators. The media - MSN, CNN - just look at some of the commentary tonight and over the past few days. They are infiltrated by a bunch of race baiters. I live in the UK but my kids and wife are American citizens and I don’t want my kids to ever live there. It’s being ruined by the left who just keep creeping further and further left. We see it in the UK too. Centrist positions 25 years ago are now ‘far-right. Fuck them.
  4. There is no simmering down for people who gun others down.
  5. So I’m not even American, and I was never really into Charlie Kirk’s views or even followed him. Even still, I have a terrible pit in my stomach for his wife, and his kids who will grow up without a father. And it’s fuelling something else, a very deep rage. Holy cow I’m angry.
  6. Hate to be a pessimist but if that’s true I don’t know how you can survive that. I don’t get how anyone with a heart can attempt to kill someone because they spoke hurty words. The guy has two kids, it’s them I feel for the most.
  7. Shot in the chest it seems, maybe by a rifle, look pretty bad in video footage. Hope / pray he’s alright but doesn’t look good.
  8. I’ve never harvested any gains, but I completely agree with you. First priority is providing for my family and kids, second is ensuring the kids have a happy childhood, and lastly is I have enough away to help them out later in life. It used to be about getting rich, now it’s all about them. I’ve basically decided that I’m going to use all that money on them, because actually that’s what makes me happy. I never got enjoyment on spending for myself. The trouble, as you say, is you want to teach them the values you have. Many kids who just get things are terrible with money when they are older.
  9. I agree many / most aren’t violent etc. But they are breaking the law. If I entered a country illegally, or stayed beyond my permitted time, I’d expect to be deported. I don’t get why anyone expects anything different. Likewise if I speed, and I’m caught, I expect to get a ticket.
  10. Congress has to the power to reign him in. Regarding boundaries and safeguards, Trump is somewhat unleashed. In a large part because the opposition spent his first term trying to bring him down with Russia bs, and the four years in between trying to ruin his businesses and even get him jailed. That was a gross misuse of power and the legal system IMO and few on the left called it out. And it’s radicalised (not using that word as a pejorative) his MAGA base such that they are willing to tolerate a lot more from him this time around - somewhat understandably.
  11. I hear what you are saying, but fundamentally, parents will tolerate a lot from politicians when the alternative is their daughter get hacked to death on the subway. Sure it’s an extreme counter narrative, but no more extreme than what you’re suggesting.

This and how Boeing is taking on the strikers (basically replacing them) is making me bullish on Boeing’s prospect. No position but may open a tracker: https://www.cnbc.com/2025/09/09/performative-or-pragmatic-why-boeing-planes-feature-so-much-in-trump-trade-deals.html
  13. What is the point of your question about cubs breaking the law? Are you really saying that if he got a speeding ticket once we shouldn’t police the border or remove illegals?
  14. This is pretty much how msm rank what stories about killings to run.
  15. And that’s the most wild thing about all of this. The white guy was restraining a nuisance passenger and the usual suspects won’t shut up about it. White refugee gets killed by a black guy for literally no reason and it’s ’nobody cares except the ringer wingers because she’s pretty.’ One of these should be national news and the other shouldn’t.
  16. I’m not triggered, you’re just oblivious to the complete garbage you’re typing. Jordan Neely died after being restrained on the NY subway by a white guy. It was national news, there were protests and mainstream coverage of the trial. Maybe you should reflect on why one gets MSM coverage and protests and the other… nothing… and also reflect on how you can be so wrong. …”but it’s the right wingers”.
  17. No it’s not. It tells you nothing. You wrote the first sentence like - ‘oh just another random murder, nobody cares, yada yada… right wingers’. Come on.
  18. You’re highlighting a serious problem, but not the problem you think you’re highlighting.
  19. She’ll be sending them to Dem areas, for the most part, so I don’t think they’ll mind too much.
  20. Yep. Fascism is not being tough on bad behaviour.
  21. Pretty wild. Saw some of the released video. Anyone who does that (irrespective of race - as if that needs to be said) should face capital punishment. I don’t care if they have a mental health disorder. Capital punishment is maybe one of the few beliefs I have changed my view on slightly over time. Used to be dead against it. However where there is 100% proof - as in this case with video footage - just get rid of him. Sorry.

Yeh they put up capital gains tax, and guess what, I’m now not selling shit. Enjoy your considerably lower tax next year.
  23. I saw that interview. I have no problem with help for people of low income of wealth. It will help whoever needs it regardless of race or ethnicity.
  24. Yep. Nearly all of the disadvantage today stems from behavioural issues not some socially inherited disadvantage. The prevalence of single parent families who have 10-15 times less wealth than two parent families is a major driver of this and it has nothing to do with what past racism. LC’s argument is we should have institutional racism today because there was institutional racism 3+ generations ago.
  25. There is no justification for discrimination against white or asian kids because of something that happened a century or more before they were born. That’s what you are arguing for. I’m very sympathetic and willing to helping people who don’t have a much and who didn’t have an easy start in life. But if it’s a choice between DEI or no help - then no help. My sympathies are exhausted when people like you argue my kids (and other kids) should be discriminated against because of the colour of their skin.
