  1. What don't you like about reddit?
  2. Forgot about this. Was this discussed in letter?
  3. My first reaction ... great, there goes someone who I trust on the asset managers. I know you still will share, but buys and sells are pretty powerful indicators. Otherwise, good luck with your experiment!
  4. What would be the point of FFH buying FIH? I guess Anchorage can IPO and also pretty much be stuck with a discount, or trapped in a declining India market? But there's a plan in place to fund raise for additional investment in infrastructure, airports, etc. Or is it capital for IDBI or other larger opportunistic plays?
  5. Thanks!
  6. Paywalled when I clicked.
  7. Thanks!
  8. Or also main executives should have some sizable tied to BRK (or whatever respective other company). Which is harder to do without stock based compensation? Or use Constellation model?
  9. I hear this internet shopping thing might be huge one day. Though I'm not sure folks are ready to stop going to stores.
  10. Their games haven't been growing as much (or hasn't been hit). But I haven't followed dynamics that closely. They seem to be getting their licenses and permission in the various countries in order though, so that side seems to be unconstrained.
  11. Hasn't it been essentially been that for a while?
  12. Open brokerage account for kids, they are still accumulating! =P
  13. Current prices are over/under/fair valued?
  14. Is this convincing? The resale market of previous starter home is much higher for different reason?
  15. My understanding is wash rules is for losses. Doesn't sound like it applies since you say it's sitting on gains?
  16. I was checking chat history with my friends for when we last discussed India, must have been a while ago because we were more or less saying India (stock market) was in good/promising shape. My India exposure has primarily been in Fairfax main and Fairfax's side hustle fund, so haven't really been keenly following India market overall.
  17. Picked up some FTAI
  18. Good story! BRK was a covid purchase for me too but rather unmemorable buy decision then.
  19. The one rule that my spouse taught me is to offer minimally 10% less than asking. Her offers always make me question her rationality. But if it's a good deal, hey, why not make it a great deal. Deciding not to go forward now also means there's a chance the property can sit in the market for a while - and also lead to a better price. Good luck! As mentioned above, contacting the mortgagor or mortgage broker now also isn't a bad idea. Can get a sense so about financing and when you make offer, you have more certainty about how the financing will go, and that can make your offer more attractive.
  20. Have to look for the "What are you waiting for 10-12% drop today?" thread.
  21. I am slight impaired by one of those bad pricing biases where I could have bought for a dollar less x days ago.
  22. If I known it was today/tomorrow, I would have purchased this week! Or last.
  23. The future AI hospital administrators might be less reluctant.
  24. Unfortunate state of having a good thing, it's good.
