something good happened with LQDA?

I didn't know this was you! Very enjoyable watch. Think I'll look for way to add more JOE.
-
You have a great podcast voice too.

At September 30, 2024 there were 21,990,603 common shares effectively outstanding. At June 30, 2024 there were 22,181,619 common shares effectively outstanding. seems like repurchase pace slowed?

The thing is who will take over for Greg Abel. 62 isn't old but it's more likely that Abel reign will be less than 10 years than over.

Where is this from?

I really enjoyed it when executives in the subs got shout out in prior annual letters. Seems less prominent these days.

I'm trying to get a sense whether the issues at Geico, BHE, BNSF and or others are viewed as systemic problems that will lead to big decline or perhaps serious problems that can or should be corrected. Is it correct to say that this is a bad as Berkshire has been in a long time, and the failure to address things earlier is surely a sign of deep problems. Or it's normal course of business to hit on dry spells, and it's bad coincidence that the problems are hitting kind of all at once.

I have been purchasing CLIR, Clearsign Technology. They make low NOx burners for energy/chemical industrials, nominally turning an expensive post burn cleaning process to a pre burn process. I bought it long ago relying on adoption of strict emission standards on national and state level, but before there was a market ready product, price of thinking I was a genius. But I have been adding as price dropped, and currently. Main difference is that there is more proof of concept as CLIR has been booking sales. Plus where they figured they mainly be in refinery burners, there's been sales in horizontal markets, like recent press releases in chemical and power generation burners, and in Texas, Missouri, and Oklahoma, versus chiefly in California. Additionally, they claim and verified, that their burners can achieve similar results with emerging use of hydrogen as fuel. With the current sales, they are still a bit from breakeven, but seem to be suggesting it will be close. Anyway, just wanted to share and also welcome any pushback.

Who is Rick Rubin? And is he interviewing Mark Leonard? -
Thank you! I had a starter position. Then I made what I thought was a full position. Now I'm thinking to get more concentrated. I know, if it happens, I'm okay seeing it rise. I'm just looking for new entry, just a matter of patience.

Would you be willing to completely copy another investor?

Copying Duan Yongping? Sounds more like he's been lurking around this board! Amirite? -
Not too exhaust topic, but did Markel had similar inflection path? I'm assuming not because as much as folks want, Markel isn't Berkshire or Fairfax.
-
The idea of inflection point reminds me of what Munger said about getting to 100,000. Except no easing off gas with Prem.

I was just going to do that, but don't know how to send DMs here. Phew. -
I'll be shopping for a new mattress soon, will share if Sleep Country is among the finalist!

cause of global warming?

That's interesting. I assume they got step up around time Abel sold his 1%? So that would have set valuation a little higher than today's sale price. So it would have been tax neutral, no? (That's if I'm following the timeline correctly from above posts) But I guess I don't know the internal workings of the Scott trust.

How beneficial? Like zero taxes beneficial?
