  1. That once again, like we ve seen oh so many other times before, people whom love, just love, telling others they are crazy/in cults/etc for supposedly obsessing over Trump….going absolutely manic, obsessing over yet another subject Daddy Trump told them they need to care about….while I, myself, whom has never really given two shits about Greenland, still have…pretty much no interest in Greenland nor any of the stupid gossip and speculation about it. It is fun watching the puppets get played though!
  2. Yea I mean anything is possible given some dipshits still seem to fall for anything…but in terms of anything material this is basically a nil risk for FFH. I mean we aren’t even back at the mysteriously “magical” 4.50 level on the 10 year and they’re underway with their cooing and cawing
  3. Yea the “US losing reserve currency status” thesis is….purely TDS speaking. Fairfax will be fine. Have heard Prem is a closet Trump supporter too!
  4. Trumps behaving like a buffoon because he knows Europes leaders are feckless idiots who are lazy and ultimately won’t do shit. If they wouldnt do anything to Big Bad Vlad in Ukraine, you really think they’ll do anything in Greenland? European leaders rule with an iron fist through book reports and regulations, not military might.
  5. NATO is a meaningless entity also run by....the US, for all intents and purposes. The real "problem" is the EU and its leaders/ideological bullshit.
  6. Eh, not sure they are kissing his ass. All these EU clowns have ever done, even going back to term 1, was undermine him, and gossip/manufacture drama/"offense" to anything he does, because they want the good old days back...which they got briefly with Biden...where they "kiss ass" and let the US take center stage while paying for everything...The EU as a whole is a bunch of spoiled brat freeloaders, basically trust fund kids, whom are used to the snob club atmosphere of Davos....
  7. I mean sure....way to show us how big a threat he was.... funneling money into Russia for decades so on the "energy front" we can boast about how "green" we are at Davos....and then not once, but twice when it came to standing up for Ukraine...their strategy for "showing Russia who's boss" was to....look at the US and whine about "not doing enough". No wonder people think European leaders are just a bunch of hollow academic oriented losers.
  8. I think it’s pretty clear that like with many other issues, Trump has basically weaponized the years of lies spread by politicians and media folks. All these yappers for years have told us about “Big, Bad, Evil Vlad and Russia”, “Big, Bad, Communist Dictator Xi and China”, “Drug Trafficking Dictator Maduro” in Venezuela. “Nuclear wannabe Dictators in the Middle East”…All of these “super duper bad and imminent threats” of course aren’t nearly as such…which is why you see critics now supporting Maduros civil rights(roflmao), doing ZERO with Ukraine(so much for standing up to Vlad!), undermining action against Iran(crickets there), cutting trade deals with big bad China(oh no you gave us no choice lol)! And even yes redefining “independence” for Greenland as basically just being Denmarks slave state… etc….etc…etc…never ends does it? So yea, the whole Greenland thing is stupid and the subject didn’t even exist in the realm of what anyone cared about a few months or years ago….but now like always…everyone’s a fuckin self declared expert on the subject of Greenland now….but really the underpinning of this crap is basically…”you guys all whined and warned about these “imminent threats” so now I’m going to use that hysteria to go get us some oil/minerals up over there”….
  9. I honestly dont have the slightest clue what Greenlanders want. Maybe, perhaps, it's similar to these Amazonian tribal people.....we are fascinated by them, but they...just want to be left alone LOL I really dont know. But it's cool because Ive learned way more about Greenland in the last few months than I ever would have if the world wasnt so eager for conflict.
  10. https://nypost.com/2026/01/16/world-news/greenlanders-speak-out-against-danish-rule-they-stole-our-future/
  11. All you can do is sit back and enjoy the show!
  12. Yea this is very similar to how Ackman approaches it. 5-7% of capital at risk on an idea.
  13. I saw the most relatable video yesterday. Of the Denmark dudes all outside smoking a cig together in the parking lot after the US meeting about Greenland. Literally gave me flashbacks. We all know that feeling where you wrap up an important meeting and are just like “whew!” As you deeply exhale and then bum a smoke from your buddy.
  14. Would love to help but this board is largely button pushers, not operators of assets/businesses like this seems to entail.
  15. Yea I mean that's probably the biggest issue facing the party...they are absolutely AWFUL at picking their fights. Margaritas with a gangbanger and wife beater illegal immigrant? Sure, lets stand with Kilmar...we'll get Trump that way...Texting with Epstein to "get Trump"....sure no one will care! Championing someone running into a law enforcement agent with their car, even when there are videos and even medical records showing the dude's injuries....nah..we good! Heck, standing up for evil Mr Maduro's civil rights cuz "cant.let.Trump.win"....yea let's do it. I mean theres so many other avenues and issues they could focus on that would resonate with most people, especially since the Republicans are so scattershot and horrible at branding....but.....this? Truly bizarre.
  16. Yup. Been rocking core 4 or 5 as like 80-100% of the portfolio and then using ~30% or so of margin to play smaller stuff. Dont know why anyone would waste time doing fundamental analysis to own a bunch of 5% positions, assuming those 5% positions are considered "full". So much easier to own the index...but then you get folks who still wanna get outwitted by Mr Market and own the index minus all the best stuff, so who knows?
  17. So then by this token, does Biden own pretty much all the “inflation”? I think we know “the numbers” and “the reality”.
  18. Some of it’s just common sense. Like Liberation Day, common sense said it was a negotiating tactic and not much would stick. But people were also free to believe he was trying to cause a Depression or tank the market or sit around pondering if he was sincere about every single word and letter. I even believe some called the negotiating…”lying”….yall are free to do whatever works for you.
  19. Cough. The majority of that is simply covid reopenings in Big Blue Cities that finally decided to reopen after Jan 19 2021….not like the timing was odd or anything….everyone knew there were still mask mandates and forced restaurant closures for everyone not named Chuck or Nancy and Gavin in these places. Then, Biden takes over and voila….we re free to open back up! Out of all the disingenuous stats cited by politicians, the job losses/creation stuff around Covid is the most egregious.
  20. This is just unfortunately how it is, 1000000x over and it’s never gonna change. I used to get a smidge involved in more direct corporate activism. Even at times with names I’ve owned and discussed, when “stock green” no one, and I mean no one, feels any need to address things that are debatable even if addressing them has tremendous value. It’s always when things turn that we want to ask the “why didn’t we do xyz back when we could’ve” type yearnings pop up. In sports they say winning is the best deodorant. In the stock market, fluctuations in the upward direction are like perfume on a porn star after a few drinks. The participant is all too happy to accept that they’re content with a distorted reality, and impaired vantage point, cuz…well, look! It’s all good.
  21. Yea I think the rate is ultimately saying that the person isnt credit worthy lol. Basically "this is the rate we'd have to charge to make money in the long run, dealing with you". The problem is many consumers are stupid.
  22. I equate the morality argument on lending to a slippery slope that makes legalized gambling virtually a no go as well. Let people choose to be abused, we are all adults. Frankly if the lower rung couldn’t access credit, I think crime would be significantly higher as well.
  23. Well, there goes the "market plummets on Trump attack of Powell concerns" headline....the window to capitalize on when they all keep falling for it just keeps getting smaller.
  24. Totally. When we moved from a Costco happy area to one with no Costco within two hours of either direction there was at first some panic. Today? Don’t miss it one bit.
