  1. I equate the morality argument on lending to a slippery slope that makes legalized gambling virtually a no go as well. Let people choose to be abused, we are all adults. Frankly if the lower rung couldn’t access credit, I think crime would be significantly higher as well.
  2. Well, there goes the "market plummets on Trump attack of Powell concerns" headline....the window to capitalize on when they all keep falling for it just keeps getting smaller.
  3. Totally. When we moved from a Costco happy area to one with no Costco within two hours of either direction there was at first some panic. Today? Don’t miss it one bit.
  4. Exactly. That’s why the second they try cowardly retreating down the “you voted for (insert all the negative things)” and “threat to democracy” manhole, you nod, and then just politely leave them with Go. Fuck. Yourself.
  5. Totally. I thought they’d figure it out eventually but I guess not. Buy the “Trump said xyz” dip the day of, today it’s banks and cc stocks, wait a few days or weeks and flip for an easy and outsized profit when everyone’s moved onto the next headline.
  6. lol about time. I mean everyone openly rags on @cubsfan but holy shit it’s about time someone calls out the guy who posts his dumb “rules for debate” sandwiched in between every single post of his being unhinged, 4th grade error riddled copy and paste gibberish in retard sized font. +1’d and lol’d always by the fan club of gnats despite his propensity to engage in said name calling; everything under the sun some form of “nazi, idiot, fascist, cult member” etc, basically whatever the MSM tells him the current theme of the month is….
  7. I would also gander Costco can raise its membership fee pretty much however much it wants to, for quite awhile.
  8. Yea I guess it’s vague in a generalized way, but the way I always interpreted an investing moat, was that it represented power. So both a barrier around the business, but also that barrier allows you leverage with your product. You can own a minor league baseball team in upstate New York and it’s not the same as owning the Yankees. You can’t really replicate the minor league team, but you can’t raise prices to wherever you want. You can with the Yankees. You can own half of Arkansas and it’s not the same as owning all the hotels on 30a. At least from a business standpoint and one of what makes something attractive. To me it seems the cable companies are all competing for something no one wants anymore.
  9. Theres a reason the Rockettes are the Rockettes or that companies are handing MSG money to be the official peanut butter spread or prediction markets partner of the New York Knicks. Meanwhile Charter can’t raise prices without losing another 10% of the customer base. Geography is important but if it doesn’t come with pricing power then what’s the point?
  10. How? They have no pricing power and continue to lose customers.
  11. St Joe. Madison Square Garden.
  12. LOL not to mentioned that while "two people" on COBF get obsessed over because of fragile feelings, theres a good bunch of gnats who's contributions to the investing side, uhm....dont exist...they more or less inhabit this place to freeload and then chime in every once in a while to let us know they hate Trump or something. All good though!
  13. Whats crazy? Is it just taboo to actually acknowledge? It’s definitely a real thing where some white dudes seek out foreign wives.
  14. Yea I think the white supremist crap is really just a cover for a lot of insecurity. The outwardly “white alpha male” persona in a lot of instances probably comes down to compensation for not being able to mentally square the fact that the world is leaving them folks behind and those “alphas” aren’t really alphas at all and the cure is finding more subservient partners whom validate their world views. That said, for the more normal and non supremists, as I mentioned before, the dorky or intellectual types, it’s likely just a better personality fit. Modern American chicks especially those from upper middle class or better upbringings, are high maintenance and largely overvalued.
  15. Really, if I had a dollar for every accountant or lawyer white dude with an Asian wife I know….by no means anything wrong with it, but definitely something noticeable. Whatever works. And yea, those white, career oriented liberal women always seem to find the equally white and progressive “soy boys”. And live in white picket fence houses or expensive city brownstones.
  16. Yup. And then they become social justice/political activists in their 30s and 40s lmfao
  17. I don’t know anything about that, but definitely in a generalized way there is certainly a movement amongst dorky or introverted white collar white dudes seeking out foreign women. Especially from South America, Asia and Eastern Europe. Think a lot of it relates to the fact that women in those places tend to aspire to have the traditional family role, whereas most of the recent generations of western white chicks are more career oriented, and shall we say, ambitious.
  18. If you substitute the word support with “protest” or “disagree with”, you and a lot of others fit the bill to T. Cult
  19. Bingo. When one decides(or is forced) to engage with law enforcement, the only two things that matter are, 1) can they use force and 2) what is the probability that they do use force? My personal preference is to avoid getting into a situation where I have to evaluate either of those questions…but to each their own.
  20. Beauty! and yea, you’ll learn, you rarely find truly allocated or desirable stuff at the big boy shops. Bottle King in the Northeast, Total Wine, ABC liquors elsewhere, never have any of that stuff and if they do it’s held back for lotteries or for their rewards club members and even there, it’s rarely accessible. Whereas if you go to well run smaller shops(that almost exclusively sell liquor, not cigarettes and lottery tickets), they always have great stuff and will generally negotiate on price because it’s all way over MSRP anyway.
  21. At both events people were raging because of political delusion. At both events people died unnecessarily. That’s all I’m concluding. What’s with the stupid theoreticals?
  22. Ashley Babbit? It’s the same exact thing. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
  23. I think if we stick to the facts, it was tragic, but a symptom of the times. What we know for sure; we have the video, is she disobeyed law enforcement orders, and drove at an officer, hitting him(assault is the technical legal term). We have a media report that she was part of an anti ICE resistance group. Its a media report, take it with a grain of salt. We have on video, her lover wailing about how "it was my fault, I made her come here"(fact). We also have the video again, to use some logic and reasoning. Ive gone out with my spouse many times. But when would one of us ever be driving around or in a vehicle while the other one is just walking around a residential neighborhood? especially when theres a massive law enforcement presence? No friggin idea. Maybe if parking is tight and one of us is walking to a friend's home while the other looks for a spot??? But that still doesnt explain why we'd be around a law enforcement operation. So that makes zero sense. Unless, you also see the other videos now coming out where the lover was aggressively antagonizing ICE agents...so again, lets put two and two together and what you had was (rumor) an anti ICE couple, out deliberately looking for trouble(likely), one loitering around an active ICE scene(fact) while the other happened to be getting in their way with a car(fact), the assault of an officer(fact), a lethal shooting(fact), and the girls lover admitting "this is my fault"(fact).... So really it's tragic. It's honestly another case of TDS becoming lethal. End of the day, same as if you go to a bar looking for a fight you're likely to find one....you go to an active law enforcement investigation looking for trouble, you're likely to find it, and unfortunately here, thats what happened. It's not the officers fault. It's definitely to a large degree, the fault of the two women who went there looking for a fight. They definitely did not deserve to die, but you mix volatile ingredients and bad shit can and often does happen. Better to just let this shit go and.....drumroll......stop all the mouth foaming.
  24. Every man for himself? Sink or swim on our own? Thats pretty darn sexy to me. Some thrive in chaos, others seize up.
  25. Yup....they haven't given me the goods.....
