  1. At last disclosure (the 10-Q), Berkshire owned 964.5 million Apple shares. Multiply by today's price and you get $126 Billion pre-tax. Unless he sold some after quarter end. I saw this video back in 2003, and I was too clueless to buy anyf APPL, when I should have backed up the truck.
  2. Kindle version on sale for $1.99 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0176M1A44?_bbid=17310127&tag=ebookdealspagesite-20 If you are patient, just about every book's kindle version goes on sale! My wife says I am cheap. I like to think I am just a value investor waiting for the right price!
  3. I'm about 80% BRK, the highest I have ever been. Edit: and I am continuously writing puts on BRK, usually a week or less from expiration.
  4. John, I am so sorry to hear about your younger brother. Way too young. Mike I "managed to produce" minus 32.9 percent in about a month [the period February 19th - March 23rd] while being actually mentally incapacitated, not fit & proper and ill, & doing nothing, mostly staying away from the keyboard and my monitors. On that backdrop, there's no need to complain about minus 3 percent. - - - o 0 o - - - Off topic : Ended the year with a once-in-a-lifetime experience. R.I.P., Little Brother [Passed away December 31st early in the morning, & way too early]. So here, also a huge thank you to Broeb for picking up the baton on this yearly recurring topic.
  5. Geaux Saints!

  7. I consider paying $12 for a four-pack of Founders Breakfast Stout a splurge! With my taste buds, I think I would not appreciate the Royal Salute 21. Have you ever tried Pappy Van Winkle?
  8. "Well I woke up this morning and I got myself a beer," The Doors. Morrison was singing about Tecate, not Founders Breakfast Stout. But if you like stouts I think you will find this one superb. Everything I have had from Founders Brewing has been superb.
  9. I read it at least 20 years ago, but recall it was quite an entertaining read. Livermore was quite the plunger making, and losing, a fortune at least a couple of times.
  10. Maybe why GILD is near a 52-week low?
  11. I wasn't assigned, even though WFC closed at 29.01! Wow, that's quite a surprise, but I guess it can be a useful bonus that you can probably replace that exposure either with a higher premium or a lower strike at a good IRR. I don't do this as much as you, but I've never had that happen. The most unusual thing for me was to have a few contracts assigned to me a good number of days before expiry. I used to have this happen on occasion, but only when the put was in the money by just a few cents. In the last few years, even when the put was in the money by only $0.01, I was getting assigned. I had something similar happen. I had written WFC covered calls with a strike of 29.5. The covered shares got sold at 29.5, even though market closed at 29.01. You covered call at 29.5 is essentially the same as my naked put at 29.5. There must of been an expectation of WFC opening well above 29.5 today.

  13. You're obviously trolling once again and maybe you're looking for some entertainment so, just for fun: what is the problem if there is no problem? For those looking for a more balanced take in this distribution challenge: https://www.ft.com/content/a1bb5262-0628-401b-b5cc-66a64c17130b (note: i'm busy today and don't plan to argue here. My second child is turning 23 today and am responsible for some of the planning; she's beautiful, gifted, graduating as an engineer this year, has a bright future and is quite liberal but hey! nobody's perfect.) Congratulations to you and your daughter! What type of engineer?

  15. Wrote some WFC 29.5 strike, Dec 18 expiration puts for $0.21.
  16. We started watching it this weekend and ended up watching all of it. Excellent. If you're a chess fan I recommend agadmator's youtube channel. Thanks LC, I'll take a look. I am a chess fan. I knew what the Queen's Gambit is. Member of the chess club in high school. A nerd, lol.

  18. The Heisenberg’s were going out for dinner and Mrs. Heisenberg was going to drive. She was looking all over but could not find her keys. Werner replied, “You probably know too much about their moment.”
  19. How could they resist the politics section?
  20. After retiring, a former Gunnery Sergeant in the Canadian Army took a new job as a high school teacher in Cudworth, Saskatchewan. Just before the school year started, he injured his back. He was required to wear a light plaster cast around the upper part of his body. Fortunately, the cast fit under his shirt and wasn't noticeable when he wore his suit coat. On the first day of class, he found himself assigned to the toughest students in the school. The smart-ass punks, having already heard the new teacher was a former soldier, were leery of him and he knew they would be testing his discipline in the classroom. Walking confidently into the rowdy room, the new teacher opened the window wide and sat down at his desk. With a strong breeze blowing it made his tie flap. He picked up a stapler and stapled his tie to his chest. The rest of the year went smoothly.
  21. Towards the end of Q1 assuming they start this month.
  22. Even better if you could have their name embedded in the document so it appears across that page. This is what is done with advance copies of TV shows and movies. So if you share the DVD, your name is there throughout the viewing. This works very well!
  23. It is a head scratcher how you can make a mistake on dosage for something so significant as a COVID vaccine. Of course NASA made a similar unimaginable error losing the Mars climate orbiter failing to convert from English to metric.
