  2. Gentlemen @73 Reds and @longlake95, Where is the logic in these considerations of yours just posted above? Isen't it all about capital allocation decisions made by the capial allocator? What has Bill Gates done wrong related to the donations from the Gates Fouddations? For my personal part : What did Warren Buffett do wrong with regard to Berskhire Hathaway capital allocation before I read 'The Snowball'? Did it make me dump my familys and my own Berkshire shares? Answer : No. - - - o 0 o - - - Do I even try to punish, reprimand Lulu the Cat of the House, if the Lady of House fiercely disagree with me on something I've proposed her for us to do? [I have absolute no say over what she intends to do - for her own capital, funds and money - and vice versa!] If Lulu the Cat of the House don't behave like I want it to do, do I need to report it to the Lady of House? Answers to both : Absolutely not. - - - o 0 o - - - All this Epstein hyperbole is about keeping up appearance, hand washing, and to make it go away, disappear, as soon as possible! - [Decandence culture]n!
  3. It's not just KOSPI but all da memory funboys like Micron getting smoked Boy I really wish I kept my MU short from $1231.87, not just for money but for shit talking on da internet Too bad, so sad, coulda shoulda woulda....
  4. Yeah, it's really something when the approval rating of congress is 20-30 points lower than Trump. More later hotshot - I'm late for my Bosley appt!
  5. Gotta hit up Bosley, bro! https://www.bosley.com/ Or take a little trip to Turkey, you can even meet Trump's BFF Erdogan...Nothing says "I'm a big, strong man" like a fistful of hair plugs and some light war crimes! Wow, the Congress controlled by MAGA/Trump-loyalists turns out to be a bunch of feckless losers? No wonder, indeed!
  6. Buffett has given his endorsement to the AI trade claiming he is behind the Google investment. I do not know if that is a contrarian indicator or whether it should be a source of assurance. Presumably he's fine with Big Tech becoming more like utilities able to put large sums of capital to work and earn decent returns. I don't think returns will necessary be from LLMs. There are all kinds of software applications likely to emerge in the coming years and cloud monopolies should prosper in the same way they did when everyone went online during COVID.
  7. Great catch. I assume FFH exercises its option on the Allied World minority interest that expires in September as soon as Eurolife closes.
  8. Right John. Parsad's harassment is always welcome because he does it with a smile and much humor, much like my insult buddy, LC. Humor makes criticism a lot more tolerable at least. BTW - Parsad is right about the comb-over - but it's front to back - and not really working!
  9. I presume that this was the last regulatory hurdle for the Eurolife sale, and that this can now be closed soon. https://ec.europa.eu/commission/presscorner/detail/en/mex_26_1639 The European Commission has approved, under the EU Merger Regulation, the acquisition of sole control of EUROLIFE FFH LIFE INSURANCE S.A. (‘Eurolife') by EUROBANK S.A., both of Greece. The transaction relates primarily to insurance products and services. The Commission concluded that the notified transaction would not raise competition concerns, given the companies' limited market positions resulting from the proposed transaction. The notified transaction was examined under the simplified merger review procedure.
  10. It's no wonder that Congress has a 9% total approval rating among US citizens. Another smear machine hearing to generate campaign fundraising clips for these clowns, instead of getting business done for the American people. Jay Clayton is walking the tightrope unfortunately. He knows Biden won Georgia by less than 12,000 votes, where the "official count" changed 3X and took 20 days to correct - sealing the election for Biden. He knows that several Georgia election officials testified to substantial voter irregularities and admitted that counting totals changed and did not match the ballots cast. He knows that a single county, Fulton County (Atlanta) is the epicenter of any widespread fraud. He knows that the FBI seized 700 boxes of original ballots and tally tapes, from Fulton County - in order to substantiate any fraud. He knows that because of the testimony of Georgia Election officials, the FBI/DOJ established probable cause to conduct the investigation. Most of America - does NOT know these things - while Congress attempts to conduct their magic show - so citizens look away, fascinated by congress baiting a fine candidate. Fani Willis, famously, did the same - when she indicted Donald Trump and 20 others for "election interference" - for questioning the election process in Georgia. Ms. Willis claimed these election deniers were "criminals" - when, in fact, Fani Willis was the criminal and her case imploded and she was disqualified for her improprieties. Like Fani Willis, the sleaze bags in Congress are out to sink Donald Trump and his nominee. Confirmation hearings never change, only get more vicious.
  11. Irrevocable, at the time, with information only known at that time. So, should Buffett just keep giving, given the seriousness of the Epstein mess? Give me break, it’s not about being rich and powerful, it’s about what is right. I’d bet Melinda is on side with Warren, irrevocable or not.
  12. John, he will acknowledge that he didn't anticipate certain future events. Which is also the reason why I believe his advice to folks that they should share the contents of their Will with their children ahead of time is also often a mistake.
  13. Today
  14. I fail to see a Gestapo here. The same thing happened to me in the US actually. If a business complains about a review being offensive, Google may take it down. This has nothing to do with with free speech, it is just Google being lazy and they don’t want any trouble. You can find plenty of bad reviews of restaurants even with review gaming being a real thing everywhere including Europe: https://maps.app.goo.gl/NYTB8q2nfkHeNhUNA?g_st=ic On the same token you make excuses for X de- platforming unwelcome accounts because it is a private platform. What do you think Google maps is?
  15. Yea it is very tough to do alright. I’ve always found it hard to buy a new position where stock has grown a lot before my purchase and also struggled with averaging up on existing positions I hold. Getting slightly better with time. Maybe I’ll have mastered it when I’m buffets age.
  16. This is a correct, Buffett doesn’t care about prior prices or whether is a stock is rising or falling. This is actually hard to do and something I struggle with. I still don’t get why Buffett changed his mind so much on Google. He must have had some sort of Eureka moment. I hope it works out for them.
  17. Well, the link on Berkshire Hathaway main webpage to the original gift letters is today removed : I found the page anyway here : And the links are still working. - - - o 0 o - - - Attached is the original gift letter til Belinda & Bill Gates Foundation. - - - o 0 o - - - From the gift letter : - - - o 0 o - - - So much for 'irrevocable', when you are among the richest [and powerful] persons on the planet. - Honestly, please give me a break. bmgfltr - 20060626 - 20260716.pdf
  18. Obviously no longer a position but the flip to Musk would have been so sweet (& for personal reasons). Fortress made out like bandits, 2.7x in a year and a half, well played. https://electrek.co/2026/07/14/musk-buys-gas-turbine-company-apr-energy-grok/
  19. You’re clueless. Europeans (really the world), are negative about America way more than the other way around. Look at the politics thread on this forum. Most Americans don’t know who Macron or Merz or Ursula is whereas Europeans are much more tuned in to the happenings of America and constantly make jokes and insults about the current U.S. President in particular. We Americans don’t really mind or whine about it as much as you though… Some of us Americans though do want Europe to be a better place for capitalism and economic prosperity. And for that, we have a single thread on a single forum on the internet (this one). Now go read Reddit. You will find many negative posts about America and almost none about Europe. Frankly, very few people care enough about Europe relative to America.
  20. Sigh…it’s all very tiresome. But this is what you get when you’re too afraid to “offend” and don’t have real Free Speech. Of course now no one trusts Google reviews so this is a “win” for the politicians against “big, bad American tech companies” that try to have honest restaurant reviews. Sad to see Germany mimic the GDR/Soviets in some ways https://www.reddit.com/r/germany/s/emoFF7bj5C
  21. Not much of a bounce. The Korean equity markets are starting to look like crypto markets…
  22. Good meme. But one of buffets biggest strengths in my opinion is not letting previous stock price information (good or bad) have any influence in his assessment of whether an investment makes sense going forward. I believe Coca Cola was already a 2-3 bagger in the preceding 5 years before he made that investment.
  23. He found a way to compound experience with ages. At 39 years old passing through a wall of 4 players, each worth more than 100 million. Never seen before, the higest scorer in a single world cup will also be the oldest.
  24. Feels like you'll have time!
  25. One didn't understood who Messi was, the other didn't know who that baby will become. Absolute cinema.
  26. HaHa! Administrators are not supposed to harrass and insult board members, I think! [Mikes [ @cubsfans ] back is surface-trated with of mix of teflon and cryptonite, he can take it!] - - - o 0 o - - - Mike [ @cubsfan ] once posted a photo of him self, doing squats in the gym, with a lot of weight on the barbell! - - - o 0 o - - - That 'hair thingy' for men is continued production af prostestorone in the balls, combined with gravitation! The hair moving downwards to the chest and the back! There actually exists two work-arounds for it : 1. In stead of always telling yourself and others 'I'm pretty awesome', you start implementing 'I'm still awesome' or just 'I'm awesome', 2. In stead of always telling yuurself and others 'I'm pretty awesome', you start implementing 'I'm still pretty' or just 'I'm pretty'. - - - o 0 o - - - I'm always happy to help!
