Sure.  But if someone doesn't water the flowers, doesn't mean you take a fire truck hose to them.  Trump isn't just fixing the problem, he may end up killing the economy if other nations become aggressive. 

 

Look at India setting up a meeting with China when the U.S. said to stop buying Russian oil.  Look at Canada or Euro Nations turning elsewhere to find partnerships, buyers, suppliers, etc.  The U.S. is currently the whale, but a bunch of orcas can take down any whale!

 

Trump is either fixing the problem or leading to the future decline of the American empire!  Cheers!

Countries do (and should) look out for their own best interests.  I find it interesting how many non US citizens try to advise the US on what is good for the US.  In reality they are often looking at the consequences for themselves and their own countries.  Parsing every detail, tariff, meeting and reaction in real time is not going to prove terribly productive IMO.  Immediate reactions are just that and nothing more.

How can I accept answers i dont like when you wont give an answer????  You keep saying you already did but you didnt.  The only thing you've said is repeating the party line "to.stop other countries from taking advantage of us".  You never say how theyre doing that.or how the current policy fixes that.  Ive asked the question on the UK and Brazil like 6x now and never an answer. 

 

I'm not saying youre in a cult because you disagree with me.  I'm saying youre in a cult because you cant explain why you disagree me. And youre doing it, seemingly, because that's what Dear Leader is telling you.  If you have your own independent thoughts about why the tariffs make sense then answering the question should be easy.

In other news, the idiot politicians in Texas just had their direct deposit government checks cancelled until they return to work. Along with $500/day fines. Along with 30% of their operating budgets being cancelled.

 

Would have been nice to have a job where I refused to show up for work and still collect a paycheck. 

 

Only in government is such lunacy tolerated - but not in Texas government today!

I agree, and Trump is using tariff revenue to partially offset the giant deficits he is creating, which are going to tax cuts for the 1% and probably his cronies supplying ICE et al.

 

How is this being paid for? Tariffs, which are primarily paid for by the middle and lower classes.

I have a ton invested in the U.S...I'm definitely interested in what is in the best interest of the United States.  Maybe not quite as much as what happens to Canada, as I live here, but half my net worth is tied to the United State's long-term future!  Cheers!

I agree with that.  They should be at work and the same thing should happen if Republican politicians do the same in California or New York when they try and pass a similar reorganization of seats.  Cheers!

It will be reduced by the tariffs...that's the whole point of them. 

 

But who is affected by the tariffs the most?  Lower income, middle income Americans and small business owners.  So you reduce the debt by having the poor pay for it, while the rich benefit from tax cuts that offset any hit to them from the tariffs. 

 

Makes absolute Trumpian sense!  Isn't this how he and his father built their wealth?  Slum lords turned into real estate/hotel moguls, hiding income from taxes and employing illegal immigrants, while fighting every service provider with lawsuits to reduce their invoices.
