What do you expect? They cheer that the wars are still going on solely because “Trump said he d end them on day 1”. They ignore racism because it’s not the right color. They protest and undermine attempts to examine and eradicate government waste. They all of a sudden care about the deficit. Shit I saw a piece today about what is actually an awesome idea…a $1000 savings/investment account for every newborn, courtesy of Uncle Sam, and these scumbags have nothing but negative and critical things to say about it; hell Trump is even finally taking steps to release Fannie and Freddie and TDS takes them to “his family must be day trading it ahead of announcements” lol

Fuck em

Who is "they"?  Who are the "scumbags" youre reading?

Like how awesome is the baby savings account?

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/know-house-bills-1-000-205051565.html

Yet what do these assholes have to say? “It’s not enough money”, “there are better options”, “poor people are likely to spend it”, “it’s going to be too confusing”, heck you’ll probably even get some claiming it’s an effort to pump the indexes. Oh and “don’t like the name” lol….Anything to undermine or be negative. Can’t even on something basic just be like wow that’s a great idea, encouraging savings and financial literacy, good job….

None of those in the article are against the accounts or looking to undermine it.  It actually appears they want to improve on the idea.  So they're "assholes" for that?

Greg [ @Gregmal ],

No doubt this a good, really good idea by POTUS and / or his administration. Here in Denmark, we have had such similar things for several decades now.

Point is nothing is even good enough and some will always complain or gripe or manufacture a negative out of spite.

Welcome to America!!!  That's true of every issue, every single thing. Discussing things and having different views doesnt make people assholes.  These people are supporting the concept and want to make it better and you call them assholes and complain that people complain about everything. Pot, kettle.

That’s one example. How about denying the stuff in South Africa? Cheering the Ukraine war still not being over? But yea, different views I guess

Yup. Awesome idea too forcing them to get familiar with index funds and see the magic early on.

Who?  Who is cheering the Ukraine war not being over?  I see complaints it wasnt ended as promised but I've never seen anyone cheering its not over.

Hardly. They'll sink the country in a heartbeat in order to spite the President and his progress.

Anarchists deserve no respect. Some people really are assholes.

That's why the Democratic party is dying regime. They love Hamas and literally every decision they make is about race. American's are sick of it.

Typical dodge. Trump haters complaining while offering no solutions. European blowhards slamming the president, while having zero intention of sending money and troops.

Exactly. People with no complaints or expectations their preferred candidate didn't end the war, now mock a guy who's legitimately trying....says it all.

That doesn't seem accurate at all. You may be a doctor, but the real truth about vaccines and myocarditis risk was terribly surpressed here in the USA. Maybe not Canada or Europe, but you didn't have Fauci running the show.

@Cigarbutt

Reminds of me of Steve Martin in LA Story....medical establishment running a conspiracy....."myocarditis risk from COVID vaccines! and this is how I find out, the medical establishment tells me!!!!!" 🤣

I agree with @Gregmal they criticize everything even if it may be a good thing.

I have no idea why they don’t just laser focus on the authoritarian stuff alone- plenty of low hanging fruit there.

Exactly. Wanna bitch about the blatant shitcoin scamming? Good, I agree. Wanna bitch about tariffs on Canada, yea I get that too. Wanna complain about loyalist hiring despite qualification issues? I see both sides especially after he was undermined from within during his entire term one. But I get it. Mocking attempts to resolve wars or lower taxes? Cut government waste? Radio silence about his relentless and successful efforts to return the Oct 7 hostages? Think we are a little smarter and better than that. But this is exactly why tribalism thrives. Everything has to be all or nothing for or against. Sad.

Still looking for a fact-based and rational rebuttal...Is there a difference between a (substantiated) fact and an (unsubstantiated) opinion?

Also, what does "real truth" mean? Is it a concept similar to alternative facts?

Note: the relevant topic is myocarditis and related "fake claims"

Let me say some nice things about Donald -

 - he's done a great job regarding oct 7 hostgages

- if Biden was in power still I'm almost certain Bibi would have launched an attempted nuclear busting attack on Iran and pulled the US into a proper war in the Middle East. Bibi had zero respect for feeble Biden and ran rings around him. Trump is balls enough to stand up to Bibi....and unpredictable enough that Bibi/Israel gov might wonder one day if Trump would do to Bibi what he's done to Zelensky.....i.e. cut Israel off financially and publicly. Trump is keeping the war hawks in Israel in check, I've no doubt about that...and Israel and the world is better off for it.

- he's done a masterful job on controlling illegal immigration which was a huge problem for low income workers and exacerbated the housing/homelessness problem in major US cities. Some of what I'd call PR stunts (El Salvador jail etc.) while over the top...have, Im certain, played a really important part in getting the message across to those thinking about travelling illegally to the USA from South America....they are performative and theatrical....but they've got the message across that the USA means business and is closed to illegals and the flow has just dropped of a cliff. PR & real deterrents work.

- the deregulation agenda is deeply deeply important - a country that can't get anything done, is itself done over time.....and Trump can hopefully drive this deeply important work

- $150bn isnt $2 trillion......but you mind the cents and the dollars will look after themselves over time.....good that some momentum has been created around government wasteful spending and it might stop the incremental bureaucratic/poltician from writing a dumb cheque in the future

- one can quibble with the approach/tactics.....but the Ukraine-Russia conflict had a decade (s) long conflict written all over it.....maybe it still does.....but Trumps unconventional approach could possibly bring an end to a seemingly intractable conflict and lots lives will be saved because of it. He's attempting to be an unconventional catalyst for change and his overarching aim is noble.

- Trump is 100% right that the US should be producing critical products at home (vaccines, steel, automotive, rare earths etc.).....MBA supply chain optimizations be damned....you need to have a resilient economy to have a great economy......a great economy without any resiliency as we found out in COVID is an imposter. Any other President would kick the can down the road on this problem, say alot of words and drag their feet on it....Trump appears to be trying to actually get this US vulnerability solved in the near term....not some medium term bs target that never gets done.

It just seems odd to be so angry about people expressing other opinions (even when they are supporters) with name calling, complaining and anger. Its the very thing youre complaining about.

Spek, I'm guessing you are being facetious, but there are minority groups all over the world being prosecuted.  In a predominantly black country, undergoing political and economic strife, I'm not sure there isn't some targeted attacks happening on whites.  While I'm sure Trump and his team are exaggerating the depth of the problem, I certainly think there might be one there that the world may be discounting.

Now Cubs, et al pitting whites against non-whites, is just stirring up the same pot.  I'm not against any persecuted groups being given refugee or asylum status (white or non-white), and I think the libs and conservatives pitting these atrocities against one another is just insanity times two!  Cheers!

Same vaccines, different countries, same results.  This whole argument has been disproven over and over and over again...around the whole effing world!  Same with the argument that it increased deaths and side effects in children.  Round and round the science-denier lunatics go!  MRNA vaccine is now being used to tackle other illnesses that we thought had no treatment or cure.  Cheers!

Neither side is able to simply just call a good idea a "good idea!"  It's always from a partisan point of view.  And it's certainly not just the left criticizing the right...it goes 100% both ways.  A sad tragedy that probably holds a country back.  Cheers!

We don’t live in a time of ideas that can be played out in a safe arena. We live in a time of ideas that are being played out in an arena that’s under threat of being burned down.  Fuck the ideas for now
