Guest longinvestor Posted August 13, 2020 Posted August 13, 2020 Nice book, started off as a ten bagger story turning into a murder mystery in a lawless dictator run nation. Or should we say, a strong world king recognized by another strong king! Back to the book, I felt the drama bordered on melodrama, could have been shorter without losing intent. I picked up the book for the investment story; there’s cigar butt investing but cigar butts in Russia?? By a foreigner? I finished the book to respect the great service Browder has provided to the cause of freedom. As the previous post says, the world is a little better. Hopefully the goodness trickles down to Russian citizens.
sleepydragon Posted August 14, 2020 Posted August 14, 2020 I am reading this book too. Very interesting book. This guy is a fighter! I also started following him on Twitter
Liberty Posted August 14, 2020 Author Posted August 14, 2020 Glad you guys seem to have enjoyed it. It's definitely a wild ride and a page turner (at least it was for me). Gary Kasparov is also a good read and follow on Twitter, when it comes to explaining the mafia state that is modern Russia.
mranski Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 Navalny apparently poisoned now. This is bad, as Russia may be losing Putin’s most effective courageous critic.
Read the Footnotes Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 Navalny apparently poisoned now. This is bad, as Russia may be losing Putin’s most effective courageous critic. Putin's likely response: YA deystvitel'no ne znayu etogo parnya. YA s nim ne vstrechalsya. Chto yest', to yest'. ;)

John Hjorth Posted January 23, 2021 Posted January 23, 2021 Documentary on Putin and his wealth: So appalling! How on Earth would Mr. Putin expect to hold this new "Versailles" at the Black Sea a secret, when there are sattelites everywhere around the planet and drones available for [almost] everybody?

finetrader Posted July 2, 2021 Posted July 2, 2021 Really good book ! thanks! Extract from the book: “I have to assume that there is a very real chance that Putin or members of his regime will have me killed someday. Like anyone else, I have no death wish and I have no intention of letting them kill me. I can’t mention most of the countermeasures I take, but I will mention one: this book. If I’m killed, you will know who did it. When my enemies read this book, they will know that you know.” Bill Browder

Xerxes Posted October 5, 2021 Posted October 5, 2021 I bought the book from a bookstore when i was in BC. Next step: to read it.
dwy000 Posted November 17, 2021 Posted November 17, 2021 How bad is it that I saw Netflix was coming out with a movie called Red Notice and my first thought was "The Rock seems to be an odd choice to play Bill Browder"
Pauly Posted November 17, 2021 Posted November 17, 2021 I thought the same thing. Browder's story could make for a good movie, but I guess they'd have to go with a different title now.
Liberty Posted March 16, 2022 Author Posted March 16, 2022 Looks like the book will be made into a TV series: https://deadline.com/2022/03/doug-liman-russian-corruption-bill-browder-red-notice-1234980037/
