innerscorecard Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 Some rap (Jay-Z, who I do like a lot) is the closest I can think of. Why is there such a big lack here? Is it discordance between the type of person who likes to write songs and record music and the type of person who likes to create businesses, invest and make money?
RhubarbXIV Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 This is as close as I get: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gD1Jr7PfvSQ George Clinton forever.
Uccmal Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 ACDC - Money Talks Rush - Big Money BTO - Takin care of .business There is no discord: Many bands and artists are noted for their business skill: Kiss, Metallica, BTO, Paul McCartney, Rolling Stones; Grateful Dead; Howling Wolf.

Studesy Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 I think anyone here that grew up knowing who Warren G is will get some kicks out of this one. Had me almost rolling on the floor when I saw it a few years ago. Here it is:
AzCactus Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 I hardly think a four minute song about investing would sell many copies. The closest thing I have seen is the Forbes interview with Buffett and Jay-z
berkshire101 Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 50 Cent - I Get Money. He raps about his Vitamin Water investment!
cobafdek Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 Yet another example - David Lowery of Camper Van Beethoven and Cracker (early alternative rock, ca. 1990s): Lowery is a trained mathematician who has worked as a "quant" (a derivatives trader and financial analyst) and has started a number of music-related businesses, including a studio, a record company and a publishing company.[3] Lowery's extensive experience in business led to his appointment as a lecturer in the University of Georgia's music business program. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Lowery_(musician)

Eddie Willers Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 There's a pile of 'em listed here: http://www.businesspundit.com/30-best-songs-about-money/ I've always liked these two...Keynes vs. Hayek...Very well done: Enjoy and best regards, Eddie
innerscorecard Posted January 8, 2015 Author Posted January 8, 2015 Thanks for all the suggestions everyone. Keep 'em coming! I want to write and record songs about value investing myself. The only problem is my lack of musical (as well as investing) talent. Could probably write some demos and get professional musicians to do decent performances of the songs for a reasonable amount of money in our internet freelancing age, though.
