  1. Twenty-five seems to be it. FWIW, my start page is http://www.cornerofberkshireandfairfax.ca/forum/unread It's just the list of the unread posts since my last visit. That's my bookmarked page which I've found most convenient.
  2. 13F new holdings, Sony, Chef's Warehouse, Outerwall and Ares Management. http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1568820/000160658714000197/xslForm13F_X01/form13InfoTable.xml
  3. You're not done yet. We shall be cremated with the share certificate and have the ashes spread on our Messiah's front lawn.
  4. I don't feel any different.............. ;D
  5. I think I remember Posco from around 2011.
  6. I don't normally watch volume or pre-market etc. But apparently pre-market it was at $199999 according to the always trusty Google finance. Somebody's toying with us. ;D
  7. Happy half century Al. :) My wife's is today. I hit 40 in May (starting to have the typical regrets when you hit such an arbitrary number like 30, 40 etc.) But I'd much rather be here and go through that than the alternative. Your posts stood out for me when I went through the archives earlier this year, especially your posts through 2008-10. I'm glad you're here. This post about Norm MacDonald makes me believe he (Robin Williams) tried his best to make others feel good through his humour even if he was suffering. http://thedailybanter.com/2014/08/norm-macdonald-may-just-written-best-tribute-robin-williams-yet/ Norm also seems to hint in his last tweet that he is also depressed?
  8. I would be working at Microsoft still. So there's one life you've changed. I can't do this without the help of your board. I needed ideas to cheat off of. Having not seen the movie but I'm familiar with the term, The Butterfly Effect. Someone got your job at Microsoft, their family's life changed, your family's life changed..... I think more than a few investing styles have been affected by this board (for the better) and CBF has members worldwide. Like Eric's example, some may retire sooner, take a different path in life both personal and career because of the financial freedom. Also think about all the "meet ups" not just for Berkshire or Fairfax meetings but now Pabrai/Dhando and all the other regional meet ups.
  9. I was just going to reply to the thread by telling you to put yourself out of your misery and put in a market order at the open for $200k. ;D If you're lucky with an M.O. you may get it for $210k. :P
  10. Now you've got me ticker watching for a stock I don't own. :P
  11. He's considered one of the few comic geniuses ever but I liked him best in Good Will Hunting. Maybe it was simply the fact he showed he could play a serious role well, I'm not sure.
  12. I haven't seen Twitter or Facebook explode like this before. All 9 trending topics in Canada are either his quotes,, "Oh Captain, my Captain", or his movies. Everything online right now is Robin Williams. I had forgotten about Aladdin Liberty. :D
  13. His publicist made a statement saying he's been battling depression. :( Nanoo nanoo big fella.........
  14. Growing at 8.5%, it'll take 20 years. See you in 2034. ;D
  15. Funny, I hadn't really thought of Berkshire stock in a while, outside of what Ted and Todd are doing. I looked this up this morning and wondered how long until $200k too. :D Then I wondered how long until $500B market cap.
  16. I may have to clip this quote of yours to save for later. ;D I always thought Hussman was a windbag.
  17. I don't know how accurate it is, but AAII runs a Graham defensive screen that shows 18% since inception 18% 10 years 24% 5 years http://www.aaii.com/stock-screens/screendata/GrahamDINon
  18. Ugh. I had forgotten about him until now. I watched his show a few years back, I think it was called Big City Broker. His arrogance turned me off the show. This get rich quick thing is no surprise.
  19. I believe his name is Jacob Barnett.
  20. All good thoughts. Wish me luck as I embark on my journey to sell hockey pucks to the Russians. ;D I had thought of it after but an extended family member is from Estonia. I remember them saying after the fall of the USSR, their economy hit the skids since most of everything the Soviet regions on the west produced went into the rest of the Soviet Union. I'm pretty sure he mostly works in Finland now.
  21. Mildly off topic here. Does Canada, or any other nation for that matter, placing sanctions on Russia matter to Russia? Does it affect them or do they even care? I can't help but think as the Harper/Baird duo sanction Russia that if Putin even notices, must just be shrugging his shoulders. Surely Russia has its own maple syrup. ;D
  22. I heard there was 1 Canadian and 1 American on board.
  23. It had to be Malaysian Air...Come on. You mean negligence on their part?
  24. I heard this afternoon the black boxes were recovered by Ukrainian soldiers and they were turning them over to Russia. At this point I'm not sure they would give any new information anyway. And with all the satellites pointed at the region, I'm sure any blanks will be filled in that way. The same reporter said the FAA sent out a warning and some European carriers were avoiding the area the last few months.
