  1. Some Valaris warrants...have a few limit orders that were partially filled.
  2. Yep. You also have to look at things as a whole. I know he mentioned Apple and such near the end of the article, but the author needs to actually factor them into his argument as well. You can’t just isolated companies Berkshire has bought 100% of and judge Berkshire based solely off that. That’d be like looking at Lamar Jackson and saying “hmmm… if we ignore his rushing ability and stats he’s actually a below average quarterback because he doesn’t have as many passing yards and tds as other top qbs”. Besides, I’m not sure if anyone thinks Berkshire is going to consistently beat the SP500 now that it’s pushing $1T in valuation anyways. But I’d much rather own Berkshire than a very top heavy SP500.
  3. Sold some Valaris stock, bought some warrants. Sold some Tencent, bought some Prosus (gross).
  4. You are all crazy Never sell Berkshire! But yeah it certainly is trading at what’s historically been peak valuation..
  5. I think it would be better to just post updates in this thread, that way discussion is consolidated. I have nothing really to add to this, but I like this idea, might move some of the parents funds into it. Thanks for sharing.
  6. Snagged some HCC pre-market Nice little gain. Also bought some Atkore Friday. Not really sure if I want to make it a full position but there’s lots of things to like..
  7. Nice little jump in met coal stocks today
  8. Acquired if you can count that. Sometimes Chit Chat Money or whatever they’re called now. Sometimes Yet Another Value Blog(channel?)
  9. Looks a lot like the “CoFB portfolio” mixed with big tech What’s your cost basis for these out of curiosity?
  10. I don't really work with AI as part of my software dev job, but know quite a few people who work at FAANG doing cutting edge ML research, working directly on Bard, FB’s offering, Microsoft’s OpenAI integration, etc. I think they’d all agree with you - a lot of the AI work being done is defensive in nature and the actual feasibility isn’t certain yet. And don’t get me started on these random Fortune 500 companies implementing AI. What a joke. It’ll be interesting once the dust clears.
  11. Surprised IB is doing this. Something like Vanguard who won’t even let you buy OTC sure, but isn’t IB’s second strongest selling point the international options?
  12. Truer words have not been spoken. Stress is the number one thing to eliminate in your life.
  13. A little Warrior Met Coal. Looking at SBUX, ULTA, LULU. White girl stocks.
  14. Oh hey, core re/insurance subs upgraded to A+ and FFH upgraded to BBB+ by S&P
  15. I agree with you, but I think there’s merit to training horizontal and downward vertical pulling directly as well. I know deadlifts train your back isometrically, but I found it wasn’t enough for me personally. I didn't start adding direct back work until I hit a 4 plate deadlift for reps, but after doing so, back size and strength went through the roof. Also posture has never been better after training heavy, strict rows. Even Mark has you adding pull-ups/chin-ups in the “second part” of starting strength after you’re done deadlifting 3x per week and start alternating with powercleans/rows. Im also younger than you and my goals when it comes to lifting aren’t necessarily health related so perhaps that makes a difference as well.
  16. Lots of people finance everything and spend too much on cars. Then think about college kids, etc. Makes sense to me
  17. Yes, you may be right. However, tech layoffs are inevitable. They happen every downturn. And dudes with $300k TC who “just” meet expectations are often the first to go…especially if management figures out they’re only doing “real” work for 20 hours per week. If both jobs are in tech, chances are you lose both around the same time. If you grab two developer jobs outside the tech industry (think F500 instead of FAANG), you would probably* be safer from layoffs. Just kind of rambling..
  18. Little more Valaris. Trading at ~20-25% of of replacement, new contracts really starting to rollover, committed (supposedly) to returning all FCF to shareholders...and there's lots of it. Probably should buy a basket, but I like the size and quality of fleet vs competitors and the fact VAL isn't leveraged like the others. We'll see how this works out over the next decade.
  19. I know people in tech that do this. If you're good, you can find $200-300k TC jobs that are remote and only have 20 or so hours of "real" work weekly. Jobs with TC closer to $100k and low stress/workload are even more plentiful. Of course, tech layoffs are a real risk here.
  20. So you're saying Nintendo should be up at least 68% since Oct because it's twice the company Disney is ;)?
  21. Nintendo! ~25% market cap in cash PE of ~17 Conservative management Incredibly well protected and nurtured brand LOTS of exciting things in the works - Switch 2, continued focused on “App Store” model for lack of a better term, theme parks and movies
  22. looks like KWEB is up today? And my Chinese investments are up as well. Can you please clarify what you mean?
  23. Imagine paying $60k per year to have classes canceled because of protests. If I was a student I’d be pissed. And yes, I know they were moved online but that’s besides the point.
