  1. You may be right here, @Spekulatius, But it is likely also mixed with dwindling in trust outside USA in what actual American Politics is doing to the American Economy and thereby the US Dollar long term. Here is an example from Denmark : Berlingske - berlingsk.dk - Commentators - Commentary - Peter Kurrild Klitgaard [June 14 2025] : The United States is staring into the economic abyss – and neither of the two major parties is doing anything but worsening the situation. Subtitle : Both American parties are collectively pushing America's public finances over the edge. Neither Trump's Republicans nor the leaderless Democrats are doing anything but making things worse. - - - o 0 o - - - Peter Kurrild-Klitgaard is professor at Copenhagen University in Political science, and he quite good at explaining complicated macro economics, by drilling it down, so it's on the rim. - - - o 0 o - - - So, the 'Mar-A-Lago Accord' sentiment is cathing on and getting traction outside USA.
  2. Berlingske - berlingske.dk - Politics [June 11th 2025] : Adopted: American military bases are now allowed on Danish soil. Subtitle : The Danish Parliament has adopted an agreement with the United States that allows military bases and soldiers on Danish soil despite criticism. - - - o 0 o - - - This is a bilateral agreement needed to promote and facilitate the cooperation within NATO, based on sound reason. All that Greenland fuzz going on / off is a separate matter.
  3. That certainly depends on ones functional currency. Not everybody on CofB&F are measuring everything in USD. Here, I'm just saying. Personally, I don't even at our broker have the option to change functional currency at my own will. I voted 'yes' to Euro 28th September 2000 in the Danish currency referendum and got overruled by a majority of 53.2% to keep the Danish Krone, and then the Danish Nationalbanken just pegged the DKK to the EUR, so the currency referendum diden't really make any sense in the first place at all, it was just a bunch of *BS*, 'the people has to decide' spin and *BS* in the end anyway, and, and, and ... I can't file tax returns in any other currency than DKK. - Just venting! - *sigh*
  4. Eventually, even dumb law makers and dumb regulators will get it right, simply because long term, it will be evident what is the right thing to decide and do. Reason always prevails long term, or somebody won't be reelected, and others will be fired. But it all takes so fr*gging long time, and goes on at a high level, like production of elephants, and none of us has the sufficient patience. - - - o 0 o - - - The same thing is going on in Europe, and it's all a bloody and frustrating mess. Despite that, one has to be observant of the direction in developments. If that is right, things will eventually work out. It's now long time ago, I simply capitulated on the space, basically.
  5. Bloomberg - Wealth, Investing [June 11th 2025] : Apollo Delays Young Banker Offers as Rowan Agrees With Dimon. - - - o 0 o - - - Is there anyone here on CofB&F with industry insights who cares to explain what this is about to me, and I will appreciate it very much. I'm simply not sure I understand what I've read here correctly. Thank you in advance.

  11. lol, To me, reading CofB&F has always been a study in American culture, also. It's very educational for a European citizen, actually. - - - o 0 o - - - Christ, what an evening you all have had here, while I was sleeping, now time to go brew my morning coffee and enjoy the calme here ... - and wait for around 14:00 hours or so my time, and then it likely starts all over again!
  12. Blake [ @Blake Hampton ], With all due respect to Sanjeev [ @Parsad ], what I was really trying to express above, is that getting involved in the discussions in the Investments Ideas forum here on CofB&B will likely do you more good than hanging around up in the General Discussion forum, the 'Political posts' topic!
  13. What will bring you forward and into the future the best way for you, is that you start minding your own mind and business, in stead of caring of all others mind and business, ref. i.e. several posts by @gfp in this topic adressed towards you. I can assure you, that when you've found your own way to do it and make it working - for you, your way is ... <let it go, i'll get a ban for posting it here> rewarding. Get on to it, and get it going! - Not half a**ed!
  14. Thank you for sharing, Blake [ @Blake Hampton ], , - - - o 0 o - - - Now, how did I compose my guess of your portfolio? - I'm not going to tell, unless you ask me to!

  16. Blake [ @Blake Hampton ], Let me guess here : Tesla, Occidental Petroleum Corporation, Google?
  17. Blake [ @Blake Hampton ], Please tell us, do you even own any listed stocks at all?
  18. I concur with @cwericb, It's just such a downer thinking about it. ... - I have no constructive suggestions to add.
  19. A bit off topic, yet not, and certainly political : @Spekulatius, Last evening late, I saw episode 5 and 6 together with the Lady of the House of season 1 of a new Danish / German crime and drama series, in Danish called 'Andre folks penge', translates to English from Danish by 'Other People's Money'. It's about the likely largest international tax fraud likely ever uncovered, commited against several European states, including I think primarily, by country size, Germany, France, Denmark, Italy and Belgium, involving Cum/Ex trades in shares in large European companies. We have discussed it before here on CofB&F, I recall. IMDb page in English language, Wikipedia page in Danish language : Andre folks penge, Wikipedia page in German language : Die Affäre Cum-Ex. - - - o 0 o - - - I was so exited - and appalled! - last evening after experiencing episode 5 and 6, that I started a search after my usual and daily morning digital news paper reading to get to episode 1 - 4, too. I found them at a public streaming service related to the public Danish TV channel called DR, a streaming service called DR.tv, which is included in our tv and streaming package. So I have now swallowed all 6 episodes including the two from last night once again. It's just awesome, and appear well researched related to what has been going on here in Denmark, and I assume it's the same with repect what has happened in Germany. From reading the German Wikipedia page about the series, I understand that it should be available for you in NC, USA from and on ZDFmediathek [, if you have access to that].
  20. @Spekulatius, Yeah, - brilliant idea!
  21. What a way to start my Sunday morning! : Daily Mail - dailymail.co.uk [June 7th 2025] : Gory details of Elon Musk's 'rugby tackle' of Scott Bessent spill out as White House leaks escalate. - - - o 0 o - - - 12 - 'The Walrus' - - - - o 0 o - - - The American entertainment industry might as well close shop and go home, entertainment is now done by the White House!
  22. Bloomberg - Markets [June 6th 2025] : Apollo Eyes Germany as Private Credit’s Crush on Europe Heats Up Takeaways : Apollo Global Management's President Jim Zelter thinks Germany could be a hot spot, with the firm potentially deploying $100 billion for financing in the country over the next decade. - - - o 0 o - - - And the industry competitors are expected to follow suit, as always.
  23. This weeks KAL cartoon at the Economist [5th June 2025]: - - - o 0 o - - - I have a suspicion the humor here applied may have quite some appeal to the cranky humor of Jeffs [ @DooDiligences ].
  24. I think that could be misunderstood, @73 Reds, but I'm really confident @gfp will grab it the way it was really meant by you.
  25. @adventurer, The rules of our game just got changed by POTUS, now stocks can go to minus 300 percent! - wait ...what
