  1. What was wrong with the Colbert show?
  2. The death penalty is illegal in Wash DC and in New York. Trump says anyone in DC who meets his criteria, he is going to "seek the death penalty" So he is admitting he will be seeking to commit an illegal act. Is this whole discussion we're having absolutely silly? Of course it is - but this is what happens when you elect a clown to run the country. We get circus laws, clown show enforcement, and things like Spek pointed out above where Trump's friends get to break the law without repercussion. So if Bessent can break the law without issue, if Jan 6 rioters can commit treason and get a pardon, well perhaps Tyler and Luigi are thinking the same thing. Rules for thee, not for me...it's a terrible way to run a little league team much less a country.
  3. The other option is: grab a few beers, bring up politics and religion, and lets things devolve into this: It definitely makes for an entertaining afternoon!
  4. How meaningful are we talking, here? I am at 2% but I am a little worried at throwing too much behind a fashion brand. Even if they do everything right today: shut down Dudes, spend all FCF on buybacks...in 18 months things can change very quickly in the fashion world. Demand can drop off a cliff...curious how you think about that in relation to your position sizing. I've also sold OTM LEAPs against the part of the position (2027, $120-130 strike) to buffer some of the exposure.
  5. Really? I disagree with him on just about anything political but I enjoy reading his investment posts...which is the whole point of this forum. And I've never found him rude or offensive. Thick skins and all... #FreeCubsfan #FreeLuigi
  6. Given there are anywhere between 150-300 of these incidents in DC per year, Trump's actions could result in many, many more deaths than the single death of Charlie Kirk. He's also encouraging the same illegal capital punishment in New York, further expanding the potential deadly scope of his actions to enable/incite the commission of crimes by others. That is called aiding and abetting. So while Tyler Robinson is presumably guilty of murder, similarly Trump is presumably guilty of aiding and abetting the murder of at least around 100 people! Good job, POTUS!
  7. The death penalty is illegal in DC, where Trump is calling for its use. So Trump can support the unlawful killing (murder) of people in DC. And he has also suggested the use of firing squads. Tyler Johnson's actions seem to align with Trump's own suggestions. Silly logic but we have a silly POTUS, so this is what we get.
  8. I assumed we were discussing how to bridge the gap in this country between mainstream political identities. That's the real question, isn't it? But yeah I agree with you...murderers are bad. I said it here first! On Trump - he's also trying to get the death penalty instituted in Washington DC, against DC law! So even Trump is a supporter of murder. To me it sounds like Trump and Tyler Robinson have something very much in common. So when you mentioned 'shared fundamental morals': both sides are filled with people who share the wrong morals...except one is President.
  9. I was literally asking a question - who are "these people"? Is it just political assassins? I'm suggesting that Trump is one of "these people" who in your words: think it's OK to kill people and celebrate it, who cannot be reasoned with. And because POTUS is a big part of the problem, I can humbly suggest a good starting point to help fixing the problem: Impeach the peach! Yusef Salaam was 15 years old when Donald Trump demanded his execution for a crime he did not commit. This was back in 1989! No evidence, just execute him. Bing bong! https://www.instagram.com/reel/DOfmTLWDPeC/
  10. Who are "these people"? Charlie Kirk called for Joe Biden to be killed. Trump has called for the deaths of how many people now? I've lost count. I think I know where the problem originates!
  11. Act 4 Scene 1 America is increasingly defined by extreme political violence. A country divided. AVERAGE AMERICAN: How do we fix this country and come back together? PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES: I couldn't care less! <end scene> I mean, that would be pretty funny if it wasn't actually happening.
  12. Top 10-15 positions here, there are another ~30 positions which are all <1% which are mainly tracker positions or stuff I take a little gamble on to satisfy the trigger finger. The other managed accts are setup relatively similar just without most of the tracker positions I call the below my "active" net worth, represents about 70% of my total NW...there are some real estate ,401ks, retirement products, trusts etc. which I have much less control over in terms of investment options, so I don't consider that here. Wherever possible that stuff is invested in the SP500, or the closest "large cap equity" fund that mimics the SP500. Cash position has grown from 4% in May to about 11% here, looking to deploy that... FRFHF 25% TSE:FFH 12% Cash USD 11% TSE:ARE 10% AEGXF 10% Japan Basket 6% MSGE 4% RTO 3% DFIN 3% SPY 2% CROX 2% CPNG 1% MGM 1% LON:HSW 1% CASH 1% CLPR 1% FRPH 1% REGN 1% STO:HAYPP 1%
  13. This is turning into one of the less-discussed side effects of the 2nd Amendment - it creates this armed mentality all around. Protestors need military grade guns. So police need military grade guns. And it continues to escalate and then spills out of control. It reminds me of an often quoted battlestar galactica scene:
  14. I agree...of course it's not OK, none of what we're discussing is OK...that's the trouble, I suppose
  15. I wouldn't call it a technicality. These policies are specifically designed to deny and delay coverage as long as possible. And if the law stands in the way, then they try and change the law. There is intent behind these "technicalities". It's like saying "well let me point this gun at you for weeks, months, years on end. And if it happens to accidentally misfire during the years I've been pointing it at you, well that's not my fault - I didn't pull the trigger" It's a distinction without a difference - and that is the shield that these greedy, inhumane people hide behind. So when that shield is broken, well it doesn't bother me in the slightest.
  16. I firmly believe that the widespread misery of millions trumps the lives of a few greedy, inhumane people. I mean, if one's job is to deny cancer therapy to a few thousand grandparents to earn bonuses and increase earnings, they don't get to be upset when that same logic is applied back to them. It's real easy to say "well nobody should shoot anyone else!". No shit, Sherlock. It's much harder to say "well healthcare CEOs shouldn't lobby for laws allowing them to deny and delay life-saving care to thousands and millions of people". At the end of the day those two actions are one in the same and yet some people want to make excuses for one and not the other. I find that type of hypocrisy disgusting.
  17. Good advice for all of us active in this thread, I'd imagine. Myself included!
  18. I think I know who does like you, Donny boy!
  19. Well if you think I was exaggerating or lying you should go check out post that I was responding to where it was claimed the Jan 6 traitors were unarmed: What a phony you are. The "Patriots" were unarmed" Where are your posts ridiculing that poster for those exaggerated lies!? Don't worry - I realize there is no reasoning with you here, so in an effort to have something of a fruitful discussion I'll move on and not belabour that point. Now since you mentioned debating based on the facts alone, why should I be held to a higher standard than POTUS? Trump fires Federal Reserve Governors without any basis in fact: I'll wait for the uproar that significant employment decisions for one of the nation's most important positions of Fed Reserve Governor are made without any basis in fact. Hey, maybe she was a DEI hire!? But I get it - rules for me but not for thee. Talk about intellectual weakness!
  20. Well I assume the typical COBF'er does not need to sift thru the entirety of an individual's public, private, and personal remarks to come to the conclusion about someone. Get real! You think I'm trying to deceive people? Everything anyone has posted in this thread is available right on the internet - anyone who cares enough can do their own research and come to their own conclusion. Maybe Trump is really a meek and humble pacifist who just wishes to unify the American people. Or maybe he just doesn't care: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DOgUCdmjS0i/ Maybe this guy is really a super duper Christian or maybe he shot four democrats in Minnesota: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DK77MuyhzRV/ Oh btw - what was the Minnesota shooter's MO? Impersonating a police officer! But don't worry, ICE shouldn't bother having to identify themselves. God forbid we get robbed of great youtube content that we can sit around after bible study and watch with our kids: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DMqSa-BoPt1/ When this guy said "just kill the homeless" (oh wait, he didn't actually use those words - I must be deliberately misrepresenting him!) maybe he really meant just involuntarily euthanize them with kindness! https://www.instagram.com/reel/DOjvuYJClzx/ You talk about intellectual weakness but you are the one ignoring the weight of the argument and focusing on splitting hairs. "Oh, LC, you sneaky liar! The officer didn't die from the Jan 6 riots but rather the massive heart attack and two strokes that nobody can prove was caused by being assaulted and maced by a horde of angry lunatics, so obviously those Jan 6 protestors did nothing wrong and were totally nonviolent and let's ignore the fact that they had stun guns and zip-tie handcuffs and Trump pardoned all of them. I'm just quoting the coroner!" The point was not about a coroner and the cause of death. It was about Jan 6 not being some peaceful protest that deserves a blanket pardon (oh, excuse me: partial pardons and the remainder being sentence commutations). And the Trump shooting video, the point is not whether a single video inspires some shooter. The point is a refutation that somehow "It's all the Libs fault!" as many are claiming. Trump and Kirk and the entire right-wing cadre purposefully incite extremism. And then they get all worked up when extremism occurs and blame everyone else. Well I said it before and I'll repeat it: Kirk played a stupid game and now we are supposed to be surprised that he won a stupid prize? I enjoy a good debate because it sharpens the knives, but I am not going to sit here an argue minutiae with you. And frankly your arguments (which are good arguments and which I enjoy debating) lose relevance when you focus on irrelevant details and ignore or distract from the main point. I mean no offense by that but I hope you see where I am coming from.
  21. Must have been the trans partner that put the idea in this sweet humble conservative salt-of-the-earth boy’s head. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DOfmTLWDPeC/?igsh=bW53Y3U2dTNpajYx
  22. Just what a fascist would say! In all seriousness, imagine the father turning the kid in? I don't know if I would have done that...regardless of the morality of the deed, that kid's life is over. With how political everything is, he is essentially guilty until proven innocent. Sanjeev you dirty dog...
  23. I'm not disagreeing, but if I run a quadruple marathon and have a heart attack, then medically the cause of death is a heart attack, but it lacks context.
  24. Yeah I agree with you. And I think this is why Trump et al do whip up an emotional frenzy. They realize once a voter has emotionally committed to an issue, you own that voter - they are hooked. The downside is sometimes, in some people, those emotions take over and you get things like Jan 6 and Charlie Kirk. Of course Trump, Kirk, and others don't care about this "side effect".
  25. You're right, I think? You described (by proxy) those beliefs as disgusting and racist: Who is the redacted name? Is it Nick Fuentes? Is so, Kirk described Fuentes as disgusting and a racist. I simply assumed you would be critical of the person with disgusting and racist views. Not sure I am wholly following you here but I am trying to avoid misinterpreting you. Maybe something is being lost in translation so to speak.
