  1. The same greedy bullshit happens in all countries including the good old USA https://www.cnn.com/2013/03/19/business/iraq-war-contractors/index.html article is a rehash of a financial times investigation.
  2. Agree....Just a bunch of greedy ass politicians (along with Schroder) who put themselves above their people.. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/jun/02/germany-dependence-russian-energy-gas-oil-nord-stream Is it a fallacy to believe that you can change authoritarian regimes with trade ? Hasn't worked out too well with Russia and China....
  3. I have a buddy that did the same thing in a Midwest state…. Working farm for several years and is close enough and a pretty enough piece of property to convert it to an event destination/ weddings/ shows/ events etc…. He did this this summer and will be interested in how successful he’ll be
  4. I took away a few things ( maybe misinterpreted) deglobalization combined with regional debt and a move to a service economy is going to kick Chinas ass for several years. best thing the federal government of China can do is to continue their infrastructure buildout… … Owning Rio their opinion: https://finance.yahoo.com/news/rio-tinto-says-china-economy-040203828.html

  17. Might be behind paywall https://www.nytimes.com/2023/06/15/magazine/doctors-moral-crises.html Both Mayo locations are great…. Minn and Jacksonville….Regional / university ( teaching) hospitals are good alternatives but quite Byzantine in bureaucracy. If there is a physician / dentist In your parents area that you trust and fits with the philosophy your looking for ask them for a referral…..chances are who they send you to will be similar in practice style and finally, if they are looking holistic…. Have them do their part with diet exercise and social interaction….
  18. These are awesome
  19. Right on!
  20. Totally agree....As is investing, there are many ways "to skin the cat ." Low impact, aerobic in zone 1-2 heart rate ( that is specifically for you ), lighter weights etc. The whole goal at this age is to stay out of the Dr.'s office, hospital, nursing home etc as long as possible and enjoy life.
  21. 66 , have done a multitude of sports thruout my life. Last competitive sport(started at 55) was ironman\open water swimming ( done poorly I might add). No more competition (heart). Currently: Swimming, biking, kettlebells, rukking....currently am training for a 9 day wilderness hike in Yosemite. Basic pescetarian diet low carb low sugar, no booze. For me the key has always been some sort of combination of aerobic\high intensity, weightroom ,diet and a goal ( to get the juices flowing ). Its a constant struggle to keep the male ego in check but to be honest that's been much easier in my 60's. I've always surrounded myself with excellent athletes( no matter the sport) who are much, much better than me and keep me motivated. Stretching ,foam roller .some type of lacrosse ball and occasional massage\pt keeps my old carcass afloat.
