Viking…. I’ m curious….How does this tie into Canada’s immigration policy (if it even does.) If Canada allows wealthier immigrants and immigrants of high needs into the country, would this not cushion the RE market somewhat… And is this RE problem mainly tied to Toronto and Vancouver areas…( I’m an ignorant USA southerner )

https://www.netflix.com/tudum/articles/live-to-100-secrets-of-the-blue-zones-documentary I have been following this subject for many years.. This is an excellent summary of the findings of a healthy long and productive life. The author travels all over the world and has studied longevity in a variety of settings; and recently he tried to replicate this in a small USA town as well as explored Singapore society and government effort to have a healthier longer living population. -
"China’s total trade with Russia in the first seven months of this year jumped 36% from the same period a year earlier, to $134 billion, putting Moscow just behind Australia and Taiwan on the list of China’s biggest trading partners, according to trade data released last week" https://www.wsj.com/world/china/booming-china-russia-trade-sends-trench-digging-machines-to-ukraines-front-lines-85f5b5ff

Again I thought the odd lots podcast was spot on: debt demographics decoupling and deflation( I think i'm quoting right ).. are the major issues... having a financial regression regime run by Xi and the banks... They cant allow more capitalism because it would potentially take power away . The idea of economies of scale are risky nowadays has taken hold and this does not bode well for China....It will be interesting to see how russia China and the Brics come up with a new paradigm. https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/markets/russia-china-look-to-advance-agendas-at-brics-summit-of-developing-countries-in-south-africa/ar-AA1fxSME

Back to China I thought it was an excellent podcast discussing financial regression with a communist run bank run economy…. I also like the “CYA” description of todays moves to diversify supply chains vs decoupling

https://www.wsj.com/finance/investing/investors-fear-chinas-lehman-moment-is-looming-4364855d "Zhongzhi is a black box. They don’t have periodic disclosures, it’s a private company, and some investors don’t know what kinds of assets they’re investing in. It lured investors with high yields, at one point promising annual returns of up to 15%" Wow, I thought " Lehman moments" were confined to just capitalist systems. Nice to know communism\dictatorships are just as efficient haha
