Maybe then I will finally enjoy watching all these meetings where nobody wants diplomacy, bashes Trump for trying to get a ceasefire and demands more and more weapons against the attacker russia. To think that Russia can be attacked like Nazigermany was attacked is lunacy, Hitler has nuclear warheads now and they will be used if the state is in danger. Will you guys then also push for nuclear attacks on russia? Moscow for example? Are these regions in ukraine worth a nuclear holocaust and the deathcount going from 1m to 50m and 10% of the earths land destroyed? You make it look like that is the case if you deal with moral absolutes and want zero diplomacy.

Selensky WALKS into the oval office with demands only, " i will not take a cease-fire", "we want to continue this war and need your money". But he doesnt hold the cards, he cant do anything of that without engagement by the US administration which already saw the sunken costs of the last 3 years...why would trump bother to send even more so that the same shitshow continues? Yes, not wanting any cease fire or any sort of arrangement while at the same time pushing for further and further western engagement is playing with WW3. Thats what selensky has to do. Its shocking to me that most people continue to cheer for further war. Probably most people think they wont be send to the battlefield but we all saw that selensky threatened trump that even the US will feel the influence soon (hello WW3). Thats disrespectful!

Again, you guys picture it black and white. Selensky the white knight, Putin the Darth Vader. Ukraine not responsible at all for the tensions in the eastern regions, Ukraine the country with freedom and democracy that was helplessly attacked. Looking at the facts thats not true, they have their own responsibility for the outbreak of the war, its in the books but nobody is talking about it. Selensky has responsibility for his men and people and was willing to buy the promises of the Bidenists to continue this brutal war no matter the costs and reject any contact with the russian state. What did it get them besides a slowly losing stalemate, hundreds of thousands of men dead, the country in ruins? Trump and Vance say it like it is. The time where selensky can push for more and more western engagement against russia and more and more weapons with zero results is over. The country is ruined, there will never be peace without russia. All i see is a lot of denial by all those who blindly cheered for ukraine without looking at the bigger picture. That trump and vance get hate for that was to be expected but they are doing the right thing. Its a wake up call for selensky.

He is absolutely right, those people try to not change the status quo by coming up with abstract theoretical scenarios or hitler 2.0 visions. You need to start somewhere. A ceasefire is a start, negotiations can take place with bigger partners, once no more war everyone calms down, both parties can move towards another...

That was some small battalion that tried to rush it. You have to remember, russia also didnt send their best men in this war so far, if you ask russians, they mostly send men that are poor from the countryside or these wagner legionaires that are basically prisoners. Then now they are using north-koreans, all the poor and powerless guys are at the front, not the educated and wealthier middle-classes of the bigger cities. Total mobilization didnt happen yet, meanwhile in ukraine basically there is no middle-class anymore and selensky takes every joe no matter your status to the front.

That all the "slava ukraini" fighters are triggered by these words where selenskies was directed into a subordinate position is interesting but makes sense. Its time to make peace and take a ceasefire and sit together with the big boys, US, Russia and China and settle this war. Trump, Orban, Vance etc are all non-nonsense men who are realists. If you want ukraine to get the regions back you would have to want WW3, thats crazy.

I think Trump and Vance are smarter than people give them credit. They are realists, whats in here for the US? They delivered billions of USD for 0 gains and a stalemate with ukraine slowly losing anyways. The mantra since 3 years always was "we need more weapons" "we need this kind of weapon and that will be the gamechanger", nothing of that changed the slowly but sure outcome of ukraine losing everything. What do you want to give them when they lack manpower and their infrastructure is destroyed? Even with better rockets, russia will immediately up the gear and escalate into destroying more critical infrastructure before those taurus weapons arrive, it will be public anyways. There is no Win here for ukraine or the west, not without significant risks and significantly more men cost. Suppose ukraine could get the territories back with the support of Nato troops by the US and Germany, how many would have to come? Germany has 300k active soldiers, is 100k enough? What stops russia from using tactical nukes in that case because then russia is threatened on a different level with direct war against nato. What would that bring us and the US? That ukraine has more regions? Why would we sacrifice so much money and soldiers for that? The hitler analogy is ridiculous because russia lacks the manpower to do anything against nato countries and can be disregarded. Trump and Vance want a settlement now, it was enough. Selensky will always try again and again but he needs a clear resounding "NO", you have no cards, get a deal and lets bring the world together again. Thats diplomacy, while not ideal, it will save lifes and bring enough calm to find a position where both security interests from russia and ukraine are guaranteed.

Well, there are arguments for helping suffering countries but in this case intervention is not smart anymore.

Trump, he needed a way to prove that he had truly crossed over to the dark side beyond any possibility of reversion or redemption; perhaps his support for Russia allowed him to do that. But however shallow their motives, the consequences are profound. I can not take this author seriously. This is not science fiction. There is no good and evil. There is no death star that Luke will destroy and the rebels win. This is making a horrible deal or a bad deal, thats how it is, not pretty, not amazing but thats reality.

Right now i think there is just shock and disbelief. All the ukraine drumming since 3 years suddenly stops when Trump took office. Europe is already FAR behind the US and China in technology and infrastructure investment, if they now decide to invest trillions into this war then thats great for the US and China. Europe wont be any significant competitor anytime soon and soon will face the same bitter situation selensky faces now.

He can say whatever he wants, he has no majority, he wont even have a majority with the SPD. He has to ask the Left or the AFD for budget expansion, they wont support this war. Thats simply how it is.

Putin is totally different from Hitler. He has no globalist expansion dreams, the conflict is not out of power for expansion but for security interests that were disregarded with nato east expansion. Just look at some old interviews with putin where this was a problem already decades back. And you do remember that back then there were weapons not as advanced as they are today, deathcount of WW2 was 75m+. Its madness to say Putin is the same as hitler and that we face a 1938 situation which we do not.
