Elon is just taking the "Silicon Valley" model to the Federal government.  Having lived in that world for 30 years - I understand it well. When things aren't working - make deep, deep cuts - retrench and repair. Rehire where you cut a little too deep. Save the company. But MOSTLY change the culture rapidly back to success, accountability and productivity. Generously reward the people that help you do it.  IT's a painful model - but it worked over and over and over again in Silicon Valley. Those laid off will find another job.

 

My view - it will work REALLY well for the federal government because their is so much waste and lack of accountability.  Mainly what you need is tough management willing to not waste taxpayer money.  Elon will likely succeed.  No one has ever had the balls to do it at the Federal level. Trump has the balls to try. It will be interesting.

 

Frankly, I have less of a problem with Elon than I do with Trump.  Wait till those two come to blows...and it will come!  Cheers!

MSM traffic went to streaming, tiktok, YT and Instagram not twitter. The lack of growth at Twitter and the scattering of advertisers to the point he has to sue them is proof of that.  Keeping software running is hardly proof of success.

I was at the ski resort a few weeks ago and someone ordered a Macallan 18. It was overpriced by any means at like $125 for 2 oz. I hear a couple guys at the end of the bar being all snooty and self righteous talking about how “that’s so dumb” and “only an idiot would pay that”. And it reminded me of the people who hate on Musk for buying Twitter. Those dudes wanted to be drinking Macallan 18 but were both jealous and bitter. Perhaps they didn’t have the resources either, idk. What I know is one guy got what he wanted and money just wasn’t an issue for him. And then the other guys needed to reach for small man victories to feel better about themselves even though it didn’t really have anything to do with them in the first place. Such is life I guess.

In this analogy am I supposed to be upset because I couldn't buy Twitter myself?  This makes no sense at all.  If he wants to buy Twitter or tiktok or whatever, more power to him!  But to call the company a success because it's still alive is just wrong.  If you want to drink expensive whiskey, have fun!

You read a lot into that!  Maybe those guys were just thinking it was stupid to pay that much...not much there...pretty simple.  And at the end of the day, they were perfectly happy with their Bud Lights!    Cheers!
