Will be fun to get a margins call at 3AM in the morning. Or will they just liquidate? Imagine, you  go to bed with a margined portfolio and wake up with some margin debt  due to overnite trading gyrations.

Personally I’m opposed but let people do what they want if they only hurt themselves. If I can scalp some shares at 3am because some idiot is trading at that time without limits, oh well. Guess it just benefits me.

Yeah, I'm not averse to it, since I imagine general volatility will increase even though they believe that market efficiency will prevail.  I just think markets are getting more volatile with technology, rather than less volatile.

Cheers!

interactive brokers has had something called 'overnight trading' for a while.  The spreads are wide but I have put orders in the overnight market and in the morning it is flashing that there was a fill at some price way above or way below the market for that stock.  Had it happen two nights ago on a sell order.  I have eight overnight orders in right now and nothing is flashing and I would be surprised if any of them are executed by the morning but you never know when some busy doctor is going to read his twitter and decide to place a trade in the middle of the night.  If you actually want a chance at a fill you want to be the best bid or best ask and don't show too much size.

Damn the guys who sell books/courses/seminars/coaching on how to "trade" and "invest" in some parts of the world have to be popping the champagne

Their business was probably really good already but it's going to get exponentially better

Yall are just behind. Theres been 24/7 trading for decades. America closes and Asia and Australia open.

Yes, but US retail is largely absent from those markets. Imagine the Friday late night trading volatility from the WSB crowds coming home from the bars. Pure beauty.
