Agree… Though I’m attracted to Canadian energy space… I only own Suncor because of their integrated model , CEO Rich Kruger and the Trans pipeline… is the natty gas ️ n the same boat because of lack of pipelines.politics?

I think you have to just base it on valuation. A year ago we had a similar thread and Canada was much cheaper and the loonie was also in the basement. That has mostly reverted to the mean so I think today you are likely on par with the US in term of general valuation. The US should trade at a slightly higher valuation because of the better  business environment. 

 

In the long term Canada is decent place to invest but there are some caveats. If the US is hurting we hurt, if China is hurting we hurt, If everyone is booming we boom, if we keep electing saboteurs we will eventually fall apart. 

 

Id say stick to valuation as your metric and today your on par with the US so its  50/50

There won't be another Federal election in the near term. If the NDP/Liberals can't agree a few conservatives will support the budget. They have a huge incentive to do so, because if an election was held today the Liberals would take a much larger majority at the expense of the Conservatives. A few of the conservative MPs who would lose their seats will find something in the budget for their constituents as a reason to hold their nose and vote for it.
