Packer16 Posted July 24, 2017 Posted July 24, 2017 Great book. I have not dog eared as many pages since The Most Important Thing. Packer
JayGatsby Posted July 24, 2017 Posted July 24, 2017 Agreed. One of my new favorites. The audiobook is read by Zell which I enjoyed.
giofranchi Posted July 24, 2017 Posted July 24, 2017 Here you can find what I think are the most interesting excerpts: Cheers, Gio
onyx1 Posted July 24, 2017 Posted July 24, 2017 Just finished it. An easy-to-read story about a a guy who made billions and had fun doing it. Some great life advice included.
Phaceliacapital Posted July 26, 2017 Posted July 26, 2017 I loved how through the entire book I was thinking: This guy probably did some unethical stuff, and then at the end of the book he's like "i did nothing unethical" :D
Gamecock-YT Posted July 30, 2017 Posted July 30, 2017 Pretty good, a good bit of ego stroking as well but if you can look past that it's a quality read.
dcollon Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 Thanks for suggesting this one Packer. I really enjoyed it and learned a lot more about Mr. Zell. What a character.
spartansaver Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 Some thought provoking lessons. I enjoyed the book except the persistent tendency to self gloat. His character reminded me of Bill Paley (founder of CBS). Very little credit is given to his subordinates.

dwy000 Posted October 7, 2021 Posted October 7, 2021 I liked the book but it really was an ego trip. Zell has had a number of high profile failures along the way but you would never know it from the book. A lot of the business detail was glossed over - I wanted more dirt on the backroom negotiations and aggressive structuring he used but it wasn't there. It's a quick and good read but there are better biographies out there.
