  1. Given the 'softness' of the insurance market, isn't AJG better positioned than BRO? AJG has also dropped significantly.
  2. Interesting reaction to AJG earning report, which I think is a decent report, but different firms reacted differently "Piper Sandler Adjusts Arthur J. Gallagher Price Target to $211 From $226" "Keefe Bruyette & Woods Adjusts Arthur J. Gallagher Price Target to $235 From $246" "Mizuho Securities Adjusts Arthur J. Gallagher Price Target to $261 From $259"
  3. Congrats @Saluki. Enjoy the time you have with the kid, they grow up so fast!
  4. Thanks @gfp. That thread is basically dead. I'm going to ask my question here. Looking at AJG, the biggest risk outside the overall market being soft is the integration of AssuredPartners. What are the things to look for in their report in terms identifying if the integration is on-track or successful? Their investor day presentation say about $160M by the end of 2026, is that the metric?
  5. Is there a separate thread for AJG? search didn't find anything.
  6. the multiple expansion of the broker business has been amazing the last 10 years. I'm not sure that they are really cheap today, maybe fair priced.
  7. stock isn't particularly cheap, what's your thesis?
  8. seems like nothing changed from their Jan forecast.
  9. Thanks John, I'll take a look at RY. Like you, I have also been a long time BAC holder, I would have sold as well if it's not for the big tax bill that I have to pay, so I'm just holding.
  10. what's the reason to part ways with bac and c? I think c probably has more runway than BAC.
  11. Interesting to see AJG went down 6% today, I don't see any news and it should not correlate with oil/war, i've been selling 3/12 200 puts fwiw.
  12. Yes, we were lucky, only had a few hours of rain/storm while driving to mount Cook.
  13. Just came back from a 2-week trip, had a blast. Thanks for the recommendations, we did a couple of day hikes in Golden bay and Abel Tasman park. The star gazing in Lake Tapeko was amazing.
  14. Is the Glaciers worth the drive? (We've seen glaciers in Alaska and Canada and Switzland). For Milfrod sound, is the helicopter tour worth it? We are also thinking about changing our flight to go directly to Nelson. Any particular areas/hikes that you'd recommend? thanks.
  15. Going to New Zealand next week. We land in Auckland, was going to Trinitiri Matangi, but it seems ferry doesn't run on Mon/Tuesday. So we'll go directly to ChristChurch first, spend most of the time in the south island. This is our first time to the country, anything that we shouldn't miss?
  16. It's not the data, but the usability of the excel sheet that makes it stick. I agree that always connect to the 'right data source' is better, until dashboard becomes easy to create/use/share, excel has a long life line.
  17. Interestingly, one developer that I talked to (he used to work at workday) said that workday has a lot of modules, we probably don't have the right one, which can be expensive
  18. Sorry that I missed this. Most complaints were around bad UI, being slow, and functionalities not quite tied together. For example, if you want to have a dashboard of all your folks in the org for annual review and comp. adjustment, it is nearly impossible. What my HR partner ended up doing is to export to excel, then after all the adjustment, etc, then import back to workday.
  19. https://www.reinsurancene.ws/risk-management-platform-withcoverage-raises-42m-in-series-b-financing/ If this really works as advertised, then the insurance broker business will see some margin compression at least.
  20. I have a friend that works at NOW, and he said it's all ai fluff
  21. @Spekulatius @wisowis what is the thesis for WDAY? everyone i know who uses Workday hates them.
  22. The fact that politicians hasn't come out and reject this says a lot about CA. This isn't just about billionaires, think what will happen next time when government needs money if this ever gets on the ballot. It could easily becomes anyone that has assets over X millions gets taxed an extra 5% -- so insane.
  23. I'm curious on how did you find PROT and build the conviction? Do you buy it directly on Oslo exchange or you buy the ADR?
  24. if the stock is down 25%, your limit order is likely getting executed. With options, it may or may not be put into. I think both lose money, as long as you can manage the risk of potential over exposure with options with margin.
  25. I bought plenty of WFC from the $30s to $20s, and lots of calls during that time Too bad that I had to sell some of calls earlier this year, as I don't have enough capital to exercise them all.
