  1. Philadelphia- Low cost of living compared to NYC. Many great universities nearby. Strategically located on the East coast (near major cities).
  2. So..... Writser, how much money did you make? or what's the ROI?
  3. One suggestion. So when I press the annual button I see the most recent year 2016 till 2008 starting from left to right. If there is an option to reverse it where I see 2008-2016 from left to right or possibly make a permanent change. That would be great. Overall I like the website.
  4. I think it creates an opportunity for activists to push for spinoffs.
  5. If you haven't you should listen to our very own Eric Schlein of the Intelligent Investing podcast. http://intelligentinvesting.podbean.com/
  6. I saw this https://capitalistexploits.at/insider-949/ . He thinks he found the next big opportunity which is a bond unwind trade. Not sure if it is the right trade but interesting nonetheless.
  7. Yes they are working with Dorman Products (DORM)
  8. The P/E ratio is insane. It is trading slightly below book value. For SED Columbia is the net profit figure in dollars? Because if they can turn around the other two companies. PGNT shares will be worth a lot more.
  9. I smell opportunity. Also, That is what I am saying because if you can identify early on then you have an advantage over the quants/screeners. So you're launching a proxy battle eh.... Tell me more one day. You got to find activists/turnaround specialists that are looking to hold a company for the long term and not just financially fixing up the company and sell. You should watch Marcus Lemonis and his show the Profit. You can see him trying to fix and build a culture in action. Also, he is doing the same thing with Gander Mountain. It is a company he bought out of bankruptcy and he is turning it around as we speak.
  10. Is there a list of publicly traded companies that are at stage 4?
  11. I hear Jeff Gramm is hosting a happy hour after the meeting. Keep an eye on his twitter account for more details.

  13. You're not wrong AzCactus, it is used by many investment professionals. I have heard the customer service is spotty and the back office tools are so-so. Can anyone chime in? It looks like I am going with Fidelity. Thanks rkkabang, for letting me know about the credit card. That sealed the deal for me. Unless someone has last minute remarks about schwab.
  14. I posted this yesterday but it is not showing up due to the server outage. I am looking to switch brokerages and seeing both Fidelity and Schwab cut their pricing to $4.95 a trade. Which one is better? On one hand, I am leaning towards Schwab because they have Morningstar and Credit Suisse as research providers. Is the research useful? In Fidelity, you can trade in over 25 different countries, Can anyone explain what is it like making an international trade through Fidelity? or Is Schwab better when it comes to international trading?
  15. I thought there was a bill to ban ticket bots.
  16. I have been interested in SAUC as well. Though in 2018 they say their debt will be at $90 million. I dunno if that is going to be enough deleveraging for my liking. Do you know how the locations are doing?
  17. +1 Sharperdingaan, I think if you're investing your own money. You can only do so much. Instead it is better you have something else to do. In addition to investing.
  18. Don't forget about the hedges. That has been holding back the results for a couple of years.
  19. MAYBE, no one is holding their stocks for the long term.
  20. Good talk by the founder of Stratechery
  21.
