  1. Ive got to give the guy his props. He's making a living and probably loves what he is doing. It does take all kinds.
  2. Thanks for the info/feedback about VRBO guys. Im planning a family trip to Montreal this summer and I would prefer to do the condo w kitchenette type setup over a regular Hotel.
  3. I thought about buying a second home a year ago; fortunately I looked harder at VRBO.COM and that talked me out of it. Just rent a place for 3 months. I've used VRBO several times in the past couple of years and recommended it to friends who have used it also. We have not had a bad experience yet so I recommend it. Nevertheless, I still hesitate and wonder whether I am going to get ripped off whenever I make the downpayment. Much cheaper and definitely more comfortable than staying in a hotel room esp if you are stayiong more than a week. Thats great info OEC2000. Thanks for sharing. Anyone else ever use this service?
  4. lol, you're always causin' trouble Al! ;D twacowfca: Re. Vancouver, Noble and Dynamite, I did not know that. But what about Victoria? No Dynamite needed there- and I think that is the most beautiful part of BC all in.
  5. How did this become a Tiger Woods thread? ??? Eric, thanks for posting (below) I will check some of those places out also! ;D I thought about buying a second home a year ago; fortunately I looked harder at VRBO.COM and that talked me out of it. Just rent a place for 3 months.
  6. you beat me to it. I love Montreal. Also high on cities in North America is San Fran. Those two have to be the most underated in North America.
  7. My friend owns an Italian Cafe - makes fresh thin crust pizza - its to die for, but its on Burlington Lakeshore- a bit down south from TO. Also makes authentic Italian Bread and pastries etc. The place has been written up in magazines many times.
  8. believe it or not, the sheets were still on it!
  9. is that still considered Southern On? Damn, thats close to Barrie isnt it? No matter, still beautiful country. BTW, I just went out to grab some lunch, and some guy was driving with his convertible top down -I didnt think it was that warm. I also saw some guy riding his bike with a mattress on his head- i kid you not, I cant make this shit up!
  10. Piggy back from the "FFH Delisting on NYSE" thread. I have communicated with quite a few people from the South who claim they would like to move to Canada if it was not for the climate. Valuecfa mentione this in another thread. I live in Southern On and i just went outside with no more than a hoody. Granted, first year ever we have not had snow in Nov but even if we did get snow this time of year its usually just in the form of light rain by the time it hits the ground. Anyone else abstaining because of the weather? We have easy access to Canadian and US exchanges yaknow? ;)
  11. Valuecfa, Ive heard that from quite a few people I communicate with from the States but in alot of cases is not warranted because some of these people live in a more northern latitude than I in Southern On. Also, (Sanjeev and those in the west would better explain) parts of BC are not cold at all, just alot of rain. Perhaps this should be its own thread? - check out the general section ;D
  12. I have an easier solution for you guys (and girls): JUST BECOME CANADIAN!!!!;D You can buy and sell both Canadian and US no problem and we could really use your tax $ up here. Oh and we've got all the fresh water you can drink.....we would rather you drank the water and conserve the beer! :D
  13. smw397, Ive posted and edited my post to you so many times I realize i need some sleep. I'll try to hit this up tommorrow :)
  14. At first thats what i thought but with the 2 dynamics, and who knows where the current shorts came into the game.. who knows - just one of many theories how delisting may or may not have an effect.
  15. If you (we) put ourselves in the shoes of the guy running the company, the headaches of having listed on a US exchange at this point out weighs the benefits. Access to capital no longer required as in the past- lets get the hell out of dodge and away from the yahoos who tried to take this baby down. Still 100,000 shares short so we're prob going to see some crazy non sensical pricing coming up for those needing to fill.
  16. Does anyone know of a benefit to having shares listed only on TSX vs both exchanges - from a regulatory pt of view - with regard to a complete privatization? For some reason I believe this is where this is all going. I think we may see some short lived downword pressure from a merely market price perspective when a % of US holders will not want to go through the migmarol of trying to find the best method to hold the CAD and just take profits in unsure times. I look forward to this opportunity if it presents itself. Smazz
  17. But you gave me an idea -- maybe I can get a HELOC, and when I draw on it if I use the funds to buy stocks I could then probably deduct it as investment expense (much the same as margin interest). Yep, thats done all the time....well, used to be done alot.
  18. I have to believe that you will be able to hold it in a CAD account through TD ameritrade.
  19. WOW! http://www.cnn.com/2009/US/11/18/louisiana.katrina.lawsuit/index.html
  20. If we are not talking about supply and demand then we must be talking about witchcraft. 1 vote here for stagflation or deflation for the next few years.
  21. 1 vote here for FFH winning the lawsuit but no money from accused once convicted. Its going to be a blood from stone situation imo.
  22. I knew they held Dell but I hadnt noticed the size of the position since the latest addition - its almost largest equity holding.
  23. Omagh, do tell, I dont remember the thread. I havent been in the general section much lately if thats where it was posted. Smazz
