Im almost positive that is not possible. I run another forum myself and there is no provision for that. Personally, I dont see a problem with using "handles". That is how the internet works. I know I couldnt use my own name when i first got on the previous board because everything i wrote (at that time) for public consumption would have had to go through a compliance system. Wasnt worth it for me. I haven't heard anyone call userid's as handles in such a long time. That's way back in the old BBS days for me. Smazz, did you ever use the BBS systems back in the 80's? I did but more as an experimental thing under the guidance of my older brother who was ahead of his time (no My older brother is not Al Gore! :D). You will remember, the early 80s I believe, getting on to those things was like Marconis first shot over the atlantic. Having said that, "Handle" still gets used quite a bit - depending on which forums you go on ;D Personally nothing wrong with people posting as Watsashero - Mungerish etc. I mean, thinking they are Munger or Watsa is really outhere But I agree posting as their complete name only as duplicate/CC is kind of Kookie! The thing that confuses me is there were a few people on the old board with Mungerthis or Mungerthat.. are they the reincarnated as someone else or?

Why do they always schedule these things on the shortest most depressing day of the year. I hope they schedule the next extinction event after that for summer holidays, or around early June, so we can have some time off. Good Point Al, Dec 21 is very depressing not only because it is the shortest day but also because its usually the day I realize I have to start XMas Shopping! :o The kids like Tim Horton's coffee and Shoppers Drug Mart candy and prescriptions? believe it or not, the Stores are empty Christmas eve...great shopping ;D

The emerging markets are growing slower than in previous years and though they are growing, they couldnt stop this repression we are in. India is not a high income per capita economy and China, well, China I trust as far as I can throw Russia. :D BTW, we were never in a double dip because we never got out of the first recession... why cant people get their heads around that? The uptick was basically a result of the economic stimulus so truley that is not getting out of a recession - thats just stealing from Peter to give to Paul.

Like anything else in life, its a gamble if you dont know what you are doing or are a novice. Luckily Ive been at this going through the 80s 90s new millenium though to now. As was mentioned above there is more at work than just the fundamentals - It would be easier if that was not the case but as Bill Gates said "Lifes not fair, get over it" Ive found ive made the most gains when ive used all info avail to me and decipher what is most important. I always use the fundamentals however not using the macro info is a waste IMO Some things are just not for the weak of heart and mind. To Carboards point ive seen some posters buy companies on here in the name of value where as i see them as a bigger gamble than what Ive ever bought as solely a trade.

I had a 3% day today. Everyone has their differrent definition of Arb - I have mine. Bought Yesterday at lowball, put in a high sell for this morning. Id only do it with something i am ok owning for the long haul if i get caught in an unforseen Psunami. Its not something I am known for but You have to find a way for the volatility to work for you. So as per that earlier poll, I was more heavily weighted invested for about 6-8 trading hrs ;D

I must move there at least for Jan, Feb and March ;D

Im assuming you live in a live in a moderately warm to hot year round climate? My dad grows fig trees down/up here in Souther On but he has to enclose them in a green house in the winter.

This has been the same MS story for the last, what? 10+ years? It kind of reminds me of the monarchy... they really arent that useful anymore but they can somehow hold on to their $.

I know some posters have mentioned their philanthropy and or charity work. I havent done as much as I would have liked or expect to in the future. My favourite activity i do throughout the year is a family and friend Boxing Day skate party where we collect can goods for the local food bank. In addition proceeds from the cash donations are used to purchased needy items for the local breakfast club situated in the most hard done by parts of the city.

I thought for sure one of your hobbies would be making or drinking beer :D

Forgot to mention, I also make (print) Tshirts/Jerseys on the side. I started doing this when i started my league and it was fun so I do it for people I know etc etc. Maybe one day I will propose a Corner of Berkshire & Fairfax Message Board Tshirts to the members through Sanjeev. I do a Tshirt at the end of the year for all the players in the league and they love it (since you really cant wear a jersey around that much - but you can wear a tshirt everywhere 8))
