My house came with a control 4 system with in-ceiling speakers throughout the house. It was terrible. All the speakers are wired to one central location in our basement. I switched it out for a simpler set up with amazon echos and monoprice amps. In the basement: I plugged the speakers for each room in to an amplifier from monoprice (~$120 each). I then added an amazon echo dot ($20) to each amplifier. Each echo is named for its respective room. In the actual rooms we have echos. We just tell the echo to play music and it plays through the built in speakers. It sounds complicated because I am probably not explaining it well, but I really like how it works and it was simple to set up.

i'll take a vaccine for society and the economy. I just want to get on with my life and vaccines wont work unless a large percentage of the population takes it. No point in even developing the vaccine if everyone is going to be an armchair epidemiologist. Obviously would be a bit more comfortable with a more conventional vaccine and would evaluate data on the Moderna vaccine.

This is more theoretical than anything. The verbiage they have used is very misleading. issues: -preclinical data only. -production is not easy -delivery mechanism

Just read this article. Personally, nonprofit hospital management is one of the most unethical and self-serving groups I have ever dealt with.

We use travelers ( originally sold by geico). The price is reasonable. The one time I had a claim they were very easy to deal with.

In case you guys want to learn to write basic code...I like codecademy.com. It is pretty simplistic, but I think its a great way to start with something new. I'm doing the python course in my free time.

The meeting was great as always. Unfortunately, I didn't take notes. I think over the years (I have been attending for the last 8 or 9) Mohnish has become an incredible communicator. Additionally, I think in more recent years he has become much more introspective (or at least he discusses his self-analysis more).

Amazon has great management and the ability to continuously invest in new ideas. Priceline's future didn't seem so certain for several years (may ups and downs if I recall correctly).

I've definitely enjoyed following this series. Its very detailed and personal, thanks ragnar for taking the time to do this!

Good call Moorecapital. The overvaluation, the low barrier to enter the industry and their reliance on facebook made this company a pos. I also didn't care for the CEO's ability to steal shares back from employees and the amount of insider selling that went on early. Personally I think Linkedin has a legit business with recruiters. Its a pretty useful resource. I know nothing of the valuation though.

yeah they tend to supply most of the mediocre places all over chicago. i try to avoid them out of principle, but it gets kind of tough. There are some crazy personal stories about the family out there too.

He totally worked the system beyond what most people would say is ethical. I think there is a problem when people think that legal = OK.

agree that this is mostly arbitrary...maybe they don't like decimals? I do not know too much about currencies either, but find the appreciation of the yen in the last few years very interesting. Its a process that definitely needs to reverse itself. I recently read that the yen had appreciated something like 50% against the Dollar and Won in the last 5 years.
