I noticed that MMPIQ had a drop today. Does anyone know if the story has changed? I was a bit late in following this story, but definitely find it interesting. K P -

Next GGWPQ? Tronox Equity at $0.38...Plan Value of $2.50

Just read this. With the exception of Meruelo, I think the debtors plan is a better offer to the average equity holder. It seems like Watermarke is willing to take on more risk initially, thereby providing equity holders with a better deal. Any thoughts? -
hmm....I think the name for this metric is "speculation" lol.

About MMPIQ - I have been trying to follow this story. At the moment, this appears to be the best plan for equity holders, however I am not sure if creditors will react well to this plan. My impression is that most people are not likely to support this debtor, as management has proven to be selfish and rather inept. I think the various parties have until Friday to file amendments? Please share your thoughts or correct me if I am wrong. I am really a newbie when it comes to these types of cases and am trying to work through it. PlanMaestro - you seem to have a very thorough understanding of MMPIQ. Any thoughts on the recent price increase? -

Do many brokers pay individual investors for share borrowing? I'm curious because I would love to buy more Sears and find a way to get paid for it at the same time. -
A personal find: Iwatsuka Confectionery Company Limited -It looks expensive on a P/E basis, however they own 5% of china based Want Want Holdings (worth much more than their own market cap...) Since they don't appear to be in any hurry to sell, you need to figure out Want Want as well.

Totally agree...just talk to anyone that works at Sears Corporate and you realize that there is no leadership and morale couldn't be lower. A mild example: a friend recently took a job doing architectural store planning. When she started, she realized that her work hours would be overnight. The justification was a cost savings measure that the company was trying (to save on desks, computers, equipment, and to increase productivity during otherwise dead hours). I admire Eddie's ability to try anything if its cheap, but the business simply needs leadership and money. With that said, I am not sure the potential returns justify the costs of spending on the business. Additionally, I like Eddie's ability to stand up to bureaucracy and its self-perpetuation. I have been a shareholder for sometime and am often considering adding shares.

interesting post. I have been following these guys for some time. I don't know how they specifically business, but am pretty well versed in their incentive structure. The medicare numbers you quoted are very accurate. I can tell you that the local smaller operators have in my experience been rather shady businesses. Just as an example, there are many local home health businesses that give kick backs to the nurses in doctor's offices who provide referrals. This is a cash system and does not typically implicate the physician (they have a lot more to lose if caught doing this kind of thing). With that said, I am very interested in AMED. I am still trying to figure out the worst of the most realistic outcomes.

DRYS is a company I looked at long ago and am glad I stayed away. I would put the CEO in the biglari category.

Nice article and very realistic. I have actually been dealing with this much more often at my work recently. His perspective on this part of medicine is very accurate and definitely concurrent with my experience. Thanks for the link.

http://www.engadget.com/2010/07/02/life-and-death-of-microsoft-kin-the-inside-story/ This link offers some inside perspective of the organizational problems facing msft. I've been reading similar articles for many years now. I think things like this never mattered in the past since their core was throwing off so much cash. I think their leadership is definitely an issue. Ballmer always struck me as a corporate sales guy and definitely not a tech guy. I really think a company in their position needs to be run by people who understand consumer technology. I think J Allard may have been the only guy with a decent vision at the company and now he's gone...

At What Level is BH Considered a Value?
keerthiprasad replied to accutronman's topic in General Discussion
I doubt anyone would be willing to put up that much up front money to own a steak n shake and loans can definitely improve those numbers. I am wondering what kind of financing is available to own a burger franchise these days. For the right operator, it may actually be a decent job/investment. -
here is a link to the video of Dash on CNBC: http://news.yahoo.com/video/business-15749628/denny-s-board-battle-198931 I agree he isn't very convincing...maybe he needs to read some Dale Carnegie.

What were your most boneheaded decisions last year?
keerthiprasad replied to Rabbitisrich's topic in General Discussion
Passing on PRSC for around $1 (P/E of less than 1). Especially when I had personal knowledge of how good of an industry they are in. To make matters worse...I did this twice haha. -
yeah actually the more i read into this, the more difficult it seems. I appreciate it guys.
