I know a lot of people watch Game of Thrones. I do. But if your not reading the books you are missing out on so much more....assuming you have the time and or desire. One of the things that attracts me to it is the amount of detail George RR Martin has put into the books. People, family histories, animals, swords, locations....you name it. Single lines from characters will often hint at whats to come and the unexpected. The rabbit hole is deep. My Investment related pitch is this.....The ability to pick up on intricacies is a very good life skill. As an investor its its important to constantly be reading. Some even read 500+ pages a week. However that means nothing unless you develop the ability to cross reference things from multiple sources and be able to recall past things you've read can make or break an investment. How many times have you passed on something because you didn't know enough about the investment to actually look into it? How many times did you miss something that was right there in front of you? Putting 2 and 2 together is sometimes all you need. A significant amount of GOT events are foreshadowed. The show is really good at incorporating the books but if you're a casual watcher you may not pick up on all the intricacies. Can the FDIC influence the court in that the FHFA has sovereign immunity in spite of FHFA itself not claiming it? pretty weird, right? no, if a party isn't claiming something, an amicus can't do it on the party's behalf. it looks like amateur hour to the judges though... Reading FDIC's statement again, I think FDIC says that the parties claimed that FDIC is not the government but FDIC itself believes it is the government. I don't see anywhere in that brief where FDIC asserts that FHFA is the government. "FDIC does not support the parties’ assertions in the supplemental briefs that the FDIC as conservator or receiver is not the United Statesor not entitled to sovereign immunity." I feel that's the equivalent of trying someone as a minor only to loose then decide since that didnt work you want to try them as an adult. The truth is that the government has painted themselves into a corner one way....then separately they have painted themselves into a corner another way and now they are trying to cross uses their arguments to get out of both corners....did the govt intend to do so or is it now just throwing shit onto the wall to see if it sticks?

I think this is mainly an optics issue -- they're both well off, so it's not that unlikely that they would be in the same fund invested in something neither of them knew about. But, this is politics, and them's the breaks -- I suspect this is additional pressure being put on by some of the people who are in this investment. Would be nice to get a resolution on this soon. Markets are looking wobbly again. +1
