Do you enjoy the process or just the proceeds?
CorpRaider replied to Milu's topic in General Discussion
Proceeds? You guys are getting proceeds? -
I would request the leave and then you can probably go back early if you want. Kids are tough and first is a steep learning curve but it's awesome. Edit: I agree with pupil about trying to get some help around early on. Even if it's your mother-in-law. We kind of didn't ask thinking we wanted some space after the hospital for the first one. Not a great idea. haha

I think you can find a bunch of posts about office REITs on here from the last couple of years. I think most are in a thread about office being obsolete (or something like that) in the general discussion, rather than a bunch of idea threads. I remember JBGS, SLG, VNO, ALX, and PGRE. SLG is up like 230% since april 23.

I'm on there. Haven't really switched over yet but I think it's coming. Too much stuff in the twitter feed that you don't want randomly popping up on your phone; followed you spec. Threads was a PITA to try and set up as I don't have Instagram so I gave it up as a bad job.

Is there a chance this Verisign position might be the big dog? I guess we'll know if it keeps growing. -

Yeah I guess it's a second-place golf equipment outfit (maybe third) in what appears to me to be a slow growth oligopoly but if it's reasonably close to as good a bidness as $GOLF, I'm getting topgolf for free.

I'll take a shot: $MODG spin or sale of Topgolf; Callaway etc. re-rates to more acushnet-like multiple (which I think gives you a little more than total current market cap).

Do you plan to continue holding Berkshire once Buffett is gone?
CorpRaider replied to Milu's topic in Berkshire Hathaway
Yeah will probably look to buy more on any big weakness after. -

Does being full-time investors help you getting better return?

I should go to 0 hours and buy QQQ. hah -
I'm in this with you. Similar logic. I didn't get nearly a full position on before the Peltz pop and I'm having a hard time averaging up. Brains are weird. I should just bite the bullet. One other favorable factor is the potential catalyst from Trian. Seems likely to propose moving to a US listing, but maybe not, sometimes he's relatively chill/operational focused.

What is your top 3 business/finance/investing books you've read?
CorpRaider replied to schin's topic in General Discussion
Too much space and repetition for 98% of humans to get through it. He makes it thematic so the mental latticework and retention is better, plus ain't nobody got time to read all that. I really like John D' Rockefeller's letters to his son, but that's probably a lot of recency bias. But that was a smart mfer though. -

Could be a good opportunity in BAC if he nukes the price. It was in WFC. -

Biggest regrets of the older posters here?

FYI my hypothesis is that you each have very hairy nostrils and were therefore unable/unwilling to properly swab or be swabbed. -
I started messing around with Goosehead to get a quote one time, but didn't follow through. I was mostly curious about the business back when it showed up on Akre's Form 13 (back when he was still running it). I should shop both my homeowners and auto every once in a while.
