  1. Conversely, when have your worst returns happened?
  2. Some esoteric stuff here, a trip to the dark corners of value investing...
  3. I like the fact that he is so open about his position and willing to share it with mortals like me, makes it very interesting to follow and grasp the logic, unlike managers who want NSA proof secrecy.
  4. Yes. I believe in concentrating positions in a small number of stocks I truly believe in, no more than 10 really. Plus its a lot less work than running a diversified portfolio, and I always try to avoid extra work. :D
  5. Not necessarily, inflation can be caused by credit growth, not just because govt is printing money.
  6. Gonna have to add Accenture (ACN) to my watchlist....please go down.
  7. But when? And how will we know when we are at intrinsic value, and that our intrinsic value estimate is the "true" intrinsic value? :)
  8. I disagree. IV doesn't change. Your perception of IV changes along the turbulent path of discovery. You keep trying to predict the unpredictable, and blame it on the IV of the business rapidly changing. No. But isn't the concept of intrinsic value a "perception"? It is always an estimate, not a quantifiable, or verifiable property like say mass.
  9. Rimm's "intrinsic value" is likely dropping....why would you buy more? People seem to assume that IV is fixed and certain while price is variable....but IV seems to be pretty variable when it comes to these tech stocks...also, what if you're simply wrong about your IV (sales projections revised, nobody likes BB10 etc)? Should you keep buying more? There is no feedback process...
  10. Yep...I wish I had bought more, there is so much potential in this company that is being unlocked. Maybe Steve Ballmer can do a monkey dance and create a buying opportunity.
  11. Visit the RIMM thread. Intrinsic value is a moving target, like an ocean wave...
  12. Oh yeah...if all of you guys are so bearish on this stock....I dare you to short it. 8)
  13. Does anyone in the US have recommendations for prepaid iPhone plans? I have heard they are cheaper than bought on a contract.
  14. That iPhone Mini is going to be epic in developing nations. If it's well designed. I hate the plastic body iPhone leaks. Timmy plz make an iPhone in brushed metal like Macbook Air. Pretty plz.
  15. I don't have anything to back this up, but I think a strong dividend will give Apple a natural shareholder base with value/income oriented investors, whereas if they just keep buying back stock, growth investors have already deserted them, and value investors may not embrace it either. I also suspect that with companies that face a really "uncertain" future, people would want the cash in hand....IMO.
  16. Time to bump this thread. I'm watching ORCL, COH, RHT, PHI, AAPL, and some druggie companies.
  17. I thought this thread was going to be about soccer (football for Canadians (I think?)).
  18. MIght have to buy more if it drops below 400. Timmy raise the dividend plz.
  19. www.facebook.com I'm lazy, so not doing anything comes naturally to me. I like this long term buy and hold style for a reason... ;D
  20. Can we pool together money for a team of hookers to seduce him and make him spill his secrets? We can copy it, and I say a honey trap is a great way to get inside information.
  21. He's not gonna have problems raising money this time.... I wonder if he's hiring....
  22. Safeway is high....tasty - seems to be a boilermaker75 style of stock - heavy fcf and buybacks.
  23. Plz forward this thread to [email protected].
  24. What percentage of patients meet primary response objectives? Is there evidence this is more efficaceous than monoclonal antibody therapies?
