i am set to arrive in Delhi in December. Flight booked but itinerary not even started.

Then got the news from Trudeau this past weekend. Does this affect your plans ?

I’m US based so no impact to me. I doubt they’d cause issues for folks entering with a Canadian passport but you never know.

Just did a sports weekend trifecta!  Flew with my brother and cousin-in-law to San Francisco and caught 3 games:

  • Lakers versus Golden State...while Lebron and Steph were there, they didn't play...last preseason game.
  • Chiefs versus 49'ers...fantastic game...the pomp, pageantry and noise at an NFL game is unparalleled!
  • San Jose versus the Colorado Avalanche...got to see McKinnon and Cale Makar live.

Cheers!

We plan to see Eilean Donan on our next trip when we go to the Isle of Skye, it looks fantastic in the photos we see.

If you are going to Skye, you should do the north coast 500. Rent a car and take about two weeks to go around, preferably around May time when the midgies are less

Been doing a lot of meditation. Planning a trip to Thailand for Jan and Feb to escape another brutal NWFL winter.

Really looking forward to a retreat.

That drive to Pai from CNX is apparently an experience. You can get a puddle jumper to Mae Hong Son if you want to avoid part of the drive. I'm planning on going back to Chiang Mai Jan - April depending how bad burning season gets. Good time to be there.

Thanks for the travel tip. Wasn't aware of the burning season. Sounds like Chiang Mai in Jan will be my best bet. I'm leaning towards taking the train from Bangkok to Chiang Mai. Looking forward to getting some colorful videography at Bangkok street markets and wats. Will be avoiding Patpong, Nana and Soi Cowboy like the plague.

My wife and I did that whole golden triangle area by motorcycle for several months in 2009-2010.  It was so much fun up there.  There is a road that goes right along the Myanmar border and it seemed pretty porous with people popping out from little holes in the bushes and disappearing into little holes.  Several checkpoints along the way but that was a long time ago

Yeah most people visiting for the first time have no idea on burning season, then get there and it's the worst air quality on the planet. Should hopefully be better than the last few years since we're in a La Nina pattern.

Only thing I'd say on BKK is stay somewhere close to a MRT/BTS station, less you be stuck in some of the worst traffic you'll ever experience. I usually stay in Phrom Phong but anywhere along the Sukhumvit line is a good place to stay.

And if you are trying to avoid the sleaziness in Bangkok, you'll inevitably be catcalled for massages more times than you can count just by being a farang walking on the street. It's part of the experience.  Good news is all that goes away unless you plan on visiting Phuket or Pattaya.

Thanks, I used to go there a lot in the 2000's to buy jewelry for wholesale. Chang Massage on Silom Road was my go to for great foot and full body massage. I remember walking out of that place feeling like a million bucks even though there was never a happy ending. I like the Sukhumvit area as well and definitely agree about BTS.

I'll probably stay somewhere around Chinatown for a bit and then switch to the Kaosan Road area or Sukhumvit. I loved the Suan Lum night market and the huge outdoor eating and entertainment spot. Also want to hit the Chatuchak market and see what Thai artists have been up to.

I was in Chang Mai looking for silver manufacturers on the day that 911 happened. The retreat is my primary focus. Videography is second. Food and legit massage will just be langniappe.

Thank you -- following your comments about Rajasthan, i have added a few days on Jaipur, but then will head north to Amristar in Punjab, got to see the Golden temple. Dropped Kerela altogether. But will finish with Goa and Mumbai.
