I don't get it really. But in general, I'm a supporter and growing more of one,,, especially when he's taking out terrorists and getting rid of Democratic fraudsters! I try not to get inside his head much, real actions mean more to me than talk. All politicians talk a good game, not many of them do anything. Refreshing isn't it??

Parsad Posted April 11 Posted April 11 48 minutes ago, cubsfan said: I never thought I'd say this - but the future of NATO that includes the US - really does look at risk: He's not leaving NATO! He's going to get them to pay more and carry more of the load...so you threaten them and scare them. Why would you give up any strategic global advantage? Only a moron would do that...OH! You ever see "It's a Wonderful Life"? Donald Trump is Mr. Potter...the mean, nasty, greedy, immoral banker who hates immigrants. Obama is George Bailey...the likeable and earnest protagonist, but not great at managing finances, and keeps financing housing for the poor and immigrants pissing off Mr. Potter. Biden is Uncle Billy...the well-meaning, but slightly dim-witted uncle who ends up getting George into deep trouble when he has to look after a single bank deposit that he manages to lose and it falls into Mr. Potter's hands! NATO are all the other characters who hate Donald Trump because he's the global asshole, but when Obama gets in trouble, come running back to help because they love him and he helped them many years earlier. Much easier to understand why NATO is acting the way it is when you look at it from another perspective! No man is a failure who has friends...Trump seems to alienate most of his! Cheers!

Sorry @John Hjorth - you simply don't understand the division of power in the US. A US President is INCREDIBLY powerful. Congress holds the purse strings and can declare war - A US President can simply refuse to deploy troops to any action - period. The only remedy Congress has is to impeach the President - then they have to deal with Vance. In regards to NATO, Trump can simply say - it's not in the national interest of the US and/or no US citizens are being threatened - and no military action will be taken by the United States. Then Europe can suck on that. Mess with Trump all you like - but those are the powers bestowed to him by US Citizens. If you want to see a change in this - NATO better hope Vance or Marco Rubio do not win the 2028 election.
cwericb Posted April 11 Posted April 11 Cubs, I can perhaps see your hate for illegal immigrants, but why do you have such a hate on for all countries other than the US and possibly Israel? You hate Europe, despite the fact your wife is French (I think). What did Europe ever do to you? It would seem that at some point you must have had bad personal experience with immigrants or while traveling through other countries? Why so much hate?
John Hjorth Posted April 11 Posted April 11 Eric [ @cwericb ], I think Mikes [ @cubsfans ] wifey is of Italian origin, if I remember correctly, from reading Mikes [ @cubsfans ] posts over all the years.

The influx of capital into Florida has been crazy. A neighbor (one canal over from me), just sold their place for a crazy valuation. I'ma hold tight. Maybe someday Santa will bring me a big bag of money. I'm of the same opinion as the majority here regarding inflation and investing. I'm practically all in but with zero leverage. I sleep very well. I do worry about affordability, but not for myself. Edited April 11 by DooDiligence

My wife is French, my mom is Hispanic - both legal and neither are criminals. You might find that shocking. I certainly love Europe, having lived there for 6 months. I don't have any use for criminals, freeloaders or weak leaders. I feel bad that Europe is headed down the road of radical Islam. It's clearly a disaster, and of course, it's totally their business. I'm just so pleased that the US has a President that has reversed our tide of 600,000+ illegal, violent criminals that have done so much damage to our country. Perhaps you noticed the HISTORIC drop in violent crime last year, due to the President not fooling around?? I'm sorry NATO is so weak and useless at this time. It's definitely served its purpose for the past 70 years, carrying European free-loaders on the back of the US military for the duration. But those days are over. Unfortunately, all good things come to an end - and I think you will see a different level of participation in NATO by the USA, so long as MAGA is in charge. It will be a very good thing for the USA.

Neither does World peace as long as your beloved Canada is not directly threatened.

It's very obvious that radical Islam is wrecking Europe - and I certainly care about that - but can't stop it. The Europeans need to do so. Hungary has it right - they have the scars of 200 years of occupation by the Ottomans - they KNOW how stupid open borders are... As for @Parsad comment about US citizens killing US citizens - of course he can't admit the 125 year historic drop in violent crime 100% to Trump. Like the fake media - few will talk about it - but citizens know it.
