gary17
STOP HARPER ! LOL I like the Justin policy of running a deficit - compare to many places in Europe / Asia, we have very bad infrastructure here... we need better roads, bridges, highways, and transit system / and high speed rails.... Let's spend the money and get people to work. I think if Justin & Elizabeth team up they could do some good for a few years. I like their visions; not sure about their experience. The fear mongering over his deficit plan makes me laugh. But there are so many of the undecided who listen to that type of thing and get persuaded into believing it's the worst thing a potential PM could do. But from what I've hear, he's just not ready. He has nice hair though. ;D The Greens intrigue me. I get nervous looking at their candidate page though. To put it nicely, they look like a bunch of misfits. Crazy science teachers, retired grandmother's etc.
jeffmori7
I would like to see a coalition personally. Unfortunately, it is not in our culture, but I think that with three parties scoring this high in the polls (even though NDP is sliding a little recently), we see the limitation of our strange parliamentary system. And I always like some representation from a party like the Green, and a more proportional system could let them play a more important role as a watchdog. Also, no matter what is our political view, I think Harper's Conservatives have been there a long time and have been through their political agenda. Agree, .the conservatives have been around long enough. Its time for them to be sidelined for renewal. If the Conservatives drop from a majority to a minority my hope is that Harper will have the decency to resign. As much as I hate dynastic politics I think we get a liberal minority. Basically, I approach this election like all the others since J. Chret. resigned - I dislike all the major parties, some more than others. I even dislike the lib. at the riding level, and wont vote conservative 'cause of their leader, and NDP gets only a few percent of the vote in my riding. scorpioncapital
I just saw a TV ad by Trudeau saying something like one of our goals is to take from the rich so the middle class can live better. I couldn't believe my ears!
wisdom
Going to be close, but, conservatives have been in long enough. Need some balance and it is going to get tough with the commodity slow down. I believe, deficit spending and eventually higher taxes will happen. Probably not the best time to be elected.

I couldn't believe my ears! Just to be clear I don't think they r taking money from the rich Just taxing the high incomers at a higher rate. If you are already rich , you are not getting taxed on what you already have. Just what u bring in in the future. and since u r rich u likely have ways to better plan for this. This is the cost of capitalism , looking after those who didn't win at this game or didn't even want to participate.
TorontoRaptorsFan
Conservative Liberal party here in Ontario has been a trainwreck. Don't want to see it repeated federally.
ourkid8
Agreed. Foreign policy conservatives are an absolute disaster, domestic they are better then the other 2! lol I am going to enjoy income splitting this year for the first time + i enjoy the $160 child cheques a year; if conservatives lose I will miss out on almost $5k / year in tax benefits (+ potential loss in not keeping the increase in TFSA) Canadian politics are absolute BS... We have 2 socialist parties and one in the middle. Conservative Liberal party here in Ontario has been a trainwreck. Don't want to see it repeated federally. Uccmal
We could argue about whether or not 6 people should be legally allowed to wear Naqibs. Politicians are not always the cream of the crop.
ourkid8
Remember, the law is trying to prevent wearing Niqab's ONLY during the swearing in ceremonies yet when they walk out of the ceremony they can put it back on along with every other check and balance before they reach the ceremony (tests etc...). On top of that, the court ruled they are allowed to wear it so really........................................ What is the problem? Bigotry if you ask me. We could argue about whether or not 6 people should be legally allowed to wear Naqibs. Politicians are not always the cream of the crop.
bizaro86
I'll be voting my pocketbook, which means conservative. The Liberal promise to cancel CEE (for O&G but not mining firms!) puts them out of contention for me.
EliG
Conservative Liberal party here in Ontario has been a trainwreck. Don't want to see it repeated federally. +100 Ontario is a fiscal disaster. I have zero confidence that federal Liberals will govern any better. The party has shifted too far to the left.

nodnub
Trudeau will make some mistakes and do some things I disagree with but I am looking forward to some "different" mistakes for the next few years. I'd had enough of Harper's approach to running the country. To be honest I expected another conservative majority. Didn't think the Liberals would be able to pull off a win. I'd had enough of Harper's approach to running the country. Yeah. Same here. The more I've read the last few weeks I'm not surprised one bit that he lost. But the majority was a huge surprise. What's the phrase, "Absolute power corrupts absolutely"? Let's hope for everybody's sake Justin Trudeau doesn't suffer the same fate. I can't vouch for the National Observer or the writer of the article (2 parts) but these allegations are bordering on criminal. http://www.nationalobserver.com/2015/05/18/news/harper-worst-prime-minister-history

Viking
I am happy the Liberals got a majority (not sure how long this feeling will last). I hate minority governments where the three parties make promise ($) after promise (more $) to build a large enough base to form the next government. After 10 years governing the Conservatives needed the boot; too arrogant, mean spirited and divisive (coming from a conservative). The NDP results (or lack of) were also a shocker. Interesting times...

Aint that the truth... I identify more as a liberal but am happy to see the Consevatives keep a good number of seats. Maybe we can get the Progressive back in there without Harper. We made need them after 5 yrs. I want the good old oxymoron party back.

I'm hoping we get more of a "Cretien Liberal" vs "Pierre Trudeau Liberal" Government, but we'll see.
