Yep. For ND, they fired Charlie Weis in '09 and the last payment to him was in '16. They paid him close to $20M NOT to coach for ND anymore. ;D After being fired from ND, he was fired twice more and as of 2016 was getting 3 paycheques from former employers. Grand total comp to him after being fired from all his jobs was in the neighbourhood of $65M.

I think the title of the 1957 may have been misleading. He started the partnership early in 1956 and his letter titled, "Second Annual Letter" was written presumably in the spring of '57. It may be that this is the first letter and what he would have called his first letter may have been nothing more than one of the original partnership documents.

As someone who just moved to Ottawa from the GTA and encounter French Canadians regularly from Gatineau, I would be biased against someone French. It's a bias I'm aware I have and has only grown stronger since moving "next door". I understand part of the test is forgetting and using some sort of judgement, and doing it very quickly to hopefully make it an unconscious decision. But I didn't forget which answer I would give, I forgot which hand was for the answer I wanted to give. (I actually said the answer in my head before pressing the button but a few times it was just the wrong hand) So maybe a better answer is, the test itself is fine but the medium that's used is flawed. I'm not sure how that could be improved for an online test though.

I did the same one as you. The test is so flawed. Half the time I forgot which hand was for which category. So what they're assigning a bias towards ("Office" = "Paul"), was nothing more than forgetting which hand was for which category.

I've worked with many people who says "I" with regards to the business. I'm out of stock on this. My display case, my kitchen, my boardroom, my secretary etc. when the entire business shares these or an owner owns them. Funny, when I typed "my display case", I saw big Hoss from Pawn Stars in my head. He routinely uses I or my when he speaks of the business his dad and grandfather co-own (they mentioned one time grandpa owns 51% and dad owns 49%, 0 for Hoss until he inherits it). And his ego is as big as he is....

Yep. My grandfather was in the navy in WWII and rarely ever mentioned it. I was by far the closest to him and was treated more like a son than grandson. The only thing I remember was him sitting on the front porch on Canada Day when the fireworks were going off in the neighbourhood. He hated one sound in particular because whichever firework it was sounded like the bombs overhead during the war. He would just sit there looking off into the night and I always knew what was going through his mind but never once asked him.

What was the problem with Science Diet? My sister and nephew use it for their cat, and I'll ask them about it also. From what I remember it was the quality of the ingredients and the amount of filler. We had been with the same vet for 12 years until we moved recently and in the last couple of years they went from having Hill's brand in stock at the vets office to Royal Canin. (I'm not sure if RC is a Canadian brand or not) Since moving we've been to 3 different vets here in Ottawa (one is our new regular vet and 2 have been emergency vets). All 3 stock Royal Canin and not Hill's. Hill's used to be the defacto food that vets carried. Hill's specialty in the office and Science Diet at pet stores. Anecdotally, I spoke to someone at Petsmart and they said Hill's is moving a line into WalMart. He explained the quality difference within the market. Top quality is the vet line, second is the line sold at pet stores and the lowest quality is the lines at grocery stores. The difference is mainly the amount of filler but of course the lines sold at the vet are usually specialty food for medical problems.

Two cats, 17 years, only dry food. We just had to put one down recently but one is still with us and in great health. We always used Hill's Science Diet but about 2-3 years ago we heard from multiple people that the quality had really gone downhill. After a bit of research we found that to be correct and changed their food to Performatrin Ultra. Both indoor cats only.

Having said that, the view of Detroit from the Windsor side looks fantastic. Downtown looks very vibrant. :D I haven't been to Windsor in a few years but I always avoided it. My uncle goes to the casino there every couple of months and front what I can tell it's like you said, near the water and around the casino is pretty nice but once you get a couple of blocks in, it gets sketchy from what they tell me.

Are you sure you're talking about Windsor, Ontario??? I grew up in the Greater Toronto Area and we avoid Windsor. I used to subcontract for a friend and had some service calls there a few times, general retail renovations in malls and power centres. (maybe 5-8 years ago) We found Windsor the opposite of what you describe.

According to StatsCan an average of 30000 people moved to the U.S. per year from 2000 to 2010, less than 1% of the population. (there were no stats on how many were college graduates that moved) StatsCan also shows about 450000 people get a post secondary diploma or degree each year.
