Seriously? I'm starting a 2nd career as a software developer and there's nothing monkey about it. Do you look down your nose on all careers that you feel are beneath you?
-
My wife is the director of produce at a software company in Toronto and there are plenty of jobs for software developers. I don't know what a code monkey is........I guess that's a derogatory term a pencil pusher uses.

I forgot I had an account with TOR. (free) So I took a screenshot for you. I use uBlock Origin so I really don't know about the ads since I don't see them. It does remind me of the old Google reader. -

I think Liberty posted this a while back for us Canadians. https://finance.google.ca/finance -
I bought in on a Twitter recommendation. I think it was Morgan Housel, I think. I finished it within 2-3 days. Absolutely riveting and it read like a Soviet Union spy novel from decades past rather than a modern bio. Edit: modernish. I realize part of the book takes place before the fall of the USSR.

What in particular did you like?

Wow, did the joke go over that many heads? :o

You've missed the joke.

Now I see why everyone wants to read his letter so much. That was fantastic. ;D

I don't know. I replied to the tweet and asked if support for Canadian companies will expand beyond the share price. The reply asked "what I'm looking for". ...........something other than the share price. -

That support for Canadian markets is weak. Unless they file in the U.S. it just shows the name with a chart for the share price. http://www.rocketfinancial.com/Charts.aspx?fID=356947&r=3650&t=1 -

What happens if one HQ decides one thing, and the other decides something else? Will the AMZN empire split in two? Will there be an Eastern AMZN and a Western AMZN? What happens if one of them is overrun? There's still a commander in chief over the entire company regardless of how many "HQ's" there are.

I've been saying that about BAM for 5+ years. :-\ I stopped following them a few years ago. It's sad when businesses suffer under the kids lead.

Brookfield Asset Management. Constellation Software. I'm reading Daring to Succeed now, the bio of Alain Bouchard, one of the founders of Alimentation Couche Tard. They recently (within a few years), bought Circle K. So my recency bias is saying Couche Tard also.

Yeah, I had little interest in this from the first time I heard he was releasing a book. He's just that guy who rubs me the wrong way and I really don't know why. Maybe his ego? Who knows. Funny, narcissism is the first thought that came to mind when I heard too. Of course it doesn't help that some describe Bridgewater as being somewhat cultish. I had to look up shoe button but it did make me laugh and I think you're right on with that.

I found this on gurufocus. Most likely less in depth than the pages in James Altucher's book.

Have you tried replying to one of the blog posts? -
I haven't watched the talk. Did Munger talk about it in the linked video?

I've been on the Bitcoin sideline but have been interested for sure. I'm not sure if the interest is in the future of currency or getting a front row seat to a train wreck...... But all the times I saw someone say that Bitcoin isn't infinite I always kind of raised an eyebrow. From what I see the only limit on the number of Bitcoins is the written word of Satoshi in his white paper. Then it gets forked and all of a sudden out of nowhere there's Bitcoin Cash....... Bitcoin has a ceiling as to total units but all someone has to do is fork the code and all of a sudden there's more.... I understand the differences between Bitcoin and Bitcoin cash but the fact seems to point to creating more whenever someone (or a group) wants to.

Fair enough, I jumped the gun a bit with my response. I'm studying software development for a 2nd career and never gave search bots a thought. Next thing you're going to tell me is some company tracks our searches........ ;D

Could you be more condescending?
