  1. I don’t think it’s anymore complicated than saying it’s ok to move on. It’s an entirely new generation of Germans, nearly all of which will have precisely zero responsibility for anything that happened in WW2. Remember sure, but the Germans of today have nothing to be guilty about because they didn’t do it. Saying this doesn’t make anyone a Nazi or fascist.
  2. Another facepalm by the British government, and two middle fingers to British workers:
  3. Yep. And since wolf was cried so often nobody will actually believe them when the wolf does appear.
  4. Why can’t the mainstream parties read the room. I’ve never been to Germany, but I bet this stems from open borders, mass immigration, ridiculous asylum policies, and the particular cultures they bring with them.
  5. Thanks. Although anti-Islam is most definitely not far-right, there are plenty of commentators left and right who dislike it. I also don’t think ethnic Nationalism is necessarily racist. However all that other stuff seems pretty horrible.
  6. The answer is that no, two wrongs don’t make a right… but why does it take the likes of Trump for the left to realise ‘we’ve went too far’. Only after getting smacked around a mouth is the realisation that these things cut both ways and it’s not nice in the receiving end.
  7. Anyone who knows more about Germany than me want to explain what makes the AfD far-right? Seems that just being anti-immigration, a relatively mainstream view in Europe (btw!), can get you that label. When I think far-right I think goose-stepping Nazi’s or fascist regimes. Are they really in that mould?
  8. Thanks my guy. I didn’t realise lots of people live in big cities.
  9. This is honestly bullish. If these guys aren’t calling it a bear market I get uncomfortable.
  10. The market is grinding higher but the intraday volatility remains very high. I have a gut feeling, which is often wrong, that there is more pain ahead. However, if you hold good companies at reasonable prices I don’t see why you would sell. And if you have cash I don’t think you should be in any rush to buy. This feels like a check what the market is doing each day but otherwise just ignore the noise for few months, maybe all summer.
  11. Because hedge funds are short, or because of covering short position?
  12. What does that mean in practice. That they took off their leverage and hedged with a short? The idea that these guys just exited their positions and went short seems unlikely.
  13. If YOU were Canada and Mexico, would you trust Trump? You keep avoiding the question.
  14. No I don’t think you can. Can you trust Trump? I don’t think you can either.
  15. But can you trust the USA with Trump? He made deals in his first term he is now trashing.
  16. Wild.
  17. I wouldn’t be so sure about that, I think you are underestimating how pissed off many conservatives are. The liberal policies in western countries have been hugely divisive. Also, I think you mean blue wave right lol?
  18. See article below. https://nationalpost.com/news/canada/albertans-say-theyre-serious-about-separation-after-liberal-win No feel for whether they would be successful, but 3 in 10 is a lot as a starting point.
  19. Or maybe it suits Trump perfectly well that it’s another Liberal government. Could he divide and conquer as easily if the Conservatives won?
  20. If the liberals win, largely because of their votes in big cities, how is that a middle finger to Trump? The BBC, not exactly right wing, were already running articles before the election that some Alberta residents feel they have more in common with their Southernly neighbours than the liberals running Canada: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cgkg8r85n1eo.amp Easy targets for Trump if he is serious about getting Canada, maybe he will settle for just some of Canada instead. In any case, in nearly all Western countries it’s the liberals in cities and the conservatives everywhere else.
  21. How can they call this election when the seat projection is like 2 seats different, and the popular vote continues to narrow?
  22. Not true though. US and Russia aren’t on the brink. And nobody is saying India and Pakistan need to just get at it.
  23. It would be wonderful if something worked out. Hopefully it does.
  24. Many of the social media mob horrified by this are exactly the same people who said that ‘nobody is above the law’ as they took Trump to court for, among other things. supposedly inflating the value of real estate assets to get a loan (which was fully repaid).
