  1. Really? Gold has kept up with the S&P500 returns over 40 years? edit: I checked - I'm gonna go ahead and say the S&P 500 outperformed gold by one hell of a lot over that time frame and almost any others
  2. Is the US strategic petroleum reserve filled with refined products?
  3. I'm interested to see if the US Marshalls can track down the keys for their bitcoin and if that bitcoin has already been absconded with. Then the next move, of course, is selling off that government cheese reserve to get some cash to buy bitcoins. Then a quick revaluing of ft. knox gold gets you plenty of budget neutral bucks for bitcoin purchases. We don't need a strategic petroleum reserve anymore, we have the permian basin. Occidental's annual production is something close to the entire strategic petroleum reserve.
  4. It will be interesting to see if the QQQ stops falling and joins BTC or if BTC stops rising and joins QQQ. Or maybe they will part ways and stop correlating with risk-on / risk-off swings. Both have a double top they are dealing with, but BTC had its correction interrupted by some presidential tweeting, while QQQ did not.
  5. I understand what MSTR does that results in what they term Bitcoin yield. What is the version of that that applies to what the government would do? The government doesn't have a security to issue at 2x nav. The government has 1x liabilities to issue. Anyone can borrow a dollar to buy Bitcoin. It doesn't create an infinite money glitch or whatever the bitcoin yield is being characterized as. I am not against MSTR doing the Berkshire buying General Re gambit over and over and over. (and over)
  6. That’s a lot of spin to sugar coat a BTC reserve = no bitcoin buying announcement. Do you, James, actually think the government issuing bonds to buy bitcoin is either “budget neutral” or creates a “bitcoin yield” ? Do you really think it’s intellectually honest to paint this announcement as anything but negative for bitcoin demand given the expectations around this reserve? This is a do nothing announcement
  7. Well I will say this - a kid tripping hard on mushrooms came up to me on Mardi Gras morning and told me 'March 7th, Trump is going to announce no tax on crypto.' And then in a puff of glitter he was gone. I thought to myself - that would bring out some sellers, no? Anyway, mardi gras morning psychedelic users aren't the best source of scuttlebutt Also, he was mostly wearing lederhosen

    Bonds!

I re-bought the TLT again this morning on the gap fill. Even added some of pupil's ZROZ this time around. Half and half but I noticed those ZROZ aren't liquid like the TLTs... rocket ship emoji
  9. Oh I'm sure he owns it now.
  10. That would be great. The muddy waters day was a help. But you got your trip to the pie counter 3-4 years ago. There may not be another one for some time
  11. that wasn't a state of the union speech. That was a standard trump rally
  12. I avoid renting anything under section 8 (HUD) as a landlord because in my market you tend to have entire extended families moving into granny's apartment and they do strange stuff (like doing all their laundry in a huge clawfoot tub because they don't pay the water bill, etc.) But I guarantee you there are quite a few dead grannies who go completely unreported so that the 3 generations of people living in her HUD apartment don't have to move out. In the freezer or buried in the yard, I don't know.
  13. That's what I wanted to see! A query that showed implausibly old people receiving actual disbursements! C'mon guys, print that report out
  14. I could be wrong, but I feel like one of you is referring to "portfolio loans" as something that is secured by, underwritten or approved based on the value of an investment portfolio, while the other person is using the term "portfolio loan" as it is commonly used in finance - meaning the lender is going to retain the loan on their books - ie, not a conforming loan that shoots out the other end into the fannie / freddie machine.
  15. It is a CBS Sunday Morning interview with Warren Buffett talking about Katherine Graham.
  16. My name is Donald J Trump and I know what XRP SOL and ADA are. I swear
  17. It is pretty unbelievable! I don't remember seeing "including XRP SOL and ADA" in any executive order! https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/01/strengthening-american-leadership-in-digital-financial-technology/
  18. Thanks for putting this together (and sharing it with us!) - a very comprehensive case study on AGT!
  19. General update on markets in India - it is unusual for charts to look this perfectly bad, but we could be getting closer to a bottom in the sensex. Fairfax india shareholders need to keep an eye on the currency - it could get worse than it has been.
  20. Glad you are doing well! I was worried! I pictured a Stephanie Kelton book and a pile of Peyote and some kind of walk-about. But you are in tact and on message! Suerte!
  21. Pretty large adjustment for 2 data points -> " the nowcast of the contribution of net exports to first-quarter real GDP growth fell from -0.41 percentage points to -3.70 percentage points while the nowcast of first-quarter real personal consumption expenditures growth fell from 2.3 percent to 1.3 percent."
  22. Just ask @Parsad to change it for you in a private message. He's a busy guy but he will get to it
  23. Don't take it personally - this is a value investment message board full of equity investors. It's an odd place to seek out blockchain / token valuation discussion. Expect some people to think you are full of it - comes with the territory.

  25. I could be that Reysas made him a billionaire - or it could be that she didn't check the video title with him before publishing.
