  1. It's the envy that is difficult to overcome and how I wish I can time the purchase as impeccably as the smart folks. Hence, I keep reading Munger's quote multiple times a day as a reminder LOL: "Someone will always be getting richer faster than you. This is not a tragedy."
  2. I bought my first share 29 years ago (1996) and have been a shareholder ever since, curious how long others in the foum have been continuous shareholders of Berkshire Hathaway. Polling closes Feb 28, 2025.
  3. Too many smart investors on this message board who are able to capture the same gain in 4 years as I did in 27 years (1998 - 2025), which is truly humbling. Congratulations to all of you!
  4. Simply subscribe to dividend reinvestment plan (DRIP) over 3 decades has the same effect as dollar cost averaging and eliminates the anxiety from attempting to time the market (no one can do so for 3 decades), thus resulting in good health which leads to longevity
  5. Easy to be a sporadic shareholder and difficult to be a CONTINUOUS shareholder (the trick is to be locked out of the brokerage account after enough unsuccessful attempts with the wrong password)
  6. Not smart at all, Sanjeev because being smart means the ability to accumulate FFH in 2020, not 2 decades too early (1998), i.e. smart folks can time it right before it started to rise while I had to hold 26 years to get the same result
  7. First bought FFH at $498/share in 1998 when you sold yours as I must have bought yours and the rest is in the clip, enjoy 2024-04-11 Fairfax AGM Q&A.mp4
  8. Reinforcing my confirmation bias: https://www.cnbc.com/2024/08/28/buffetts-berkshire-hathaway-hits-1-trillion-market-value-first-us-company-outside-of-tech-to-do-so.html
  9. FFH share price gets no respect at all from good earnings report last week or sell-side analysts' consensus target price of C$2,000/share. Well, simply let management buy back more shares at lower prices, right? Without enduring the pain and suffering, any good results are underserving as Charlie Munger often said: "Why should it be easy to become rich? It isn't supposed to be easy. Anyone who finds it easy is stupid. The world isn't a crazy enough place yet to reward a bunch of underserving people." "Life is a struggle." - Karl Marx
  10. Depressed with only 5% pop so far?
  11. A reminder we're the oldest couple on the board
  12. Buffett was 66 when we bought the first share and we expect at least another 6 years of compounding before he reaches Munger's current age. Prem Watsa is 20 years younger than Buffett, thus we expect another 2 decades of compounding before he reaches Buffett's current age. Long live to all value investors!
  13. Looking forward to US$1,000 (https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/FRFHF) as the next historic milestone

  19. Hi, almighty fellow value investors: Where may I get it? Kindly attach it to the message board if anyone has the electronic from. Thanks!

  22. Like your tag-line: "Always remember, Pigs get fat and hogs get slaughtered." In this case, your broker should be slaughtered!
  23. "The company that needs a new machine tool, and hasn’t bought it, is already paying for it. " - Charlie Munger quoted the Warner & Swasey Commercial in Poor Charlie's Almanac "The investor who discovered Berkshire Hathaway early and didn't own it, is already paying for it." :) Enjoy: http://finance.yahoo.com/quote/BRK-A One of you folks should simply place an order for $300,000 to make history! LOL ;D
