Tickling match? I’m OK with the drop if that’s what it takes to get rid of this douchenozzle. ____________________________________ | | | Biden 2020 | | It's Time For A New Douchenozzle | | | |____________________________________| Pretty much, yep. He's definitely not my 1st choice but at least it won't be Sanders or Warren.

Consolidation is not a bad thing, particularly in NA, and US shale. Thousands of analysts will disagree but the reality is, that at the margin, prices have long been driven more by politics than by change in supply/demand. Nobody makes money at these levels, so we will not be here for long. However, MbS is the royal who drove the failed Aramco IPO, the royal who ordered the botched Khashoggi killing, the royal who botched today's OPEC+ price support, and the royal driving the Yemen thing. It would be a lot better for literally everyone if the Saudi/Iran conflict ceased, and MbS has just put down what he thought was a US backed coup d'etat - including putting 3 more very senior royals (including his brother) in the Hilton. To a great many in the NA industry, fracking has to go. It has severely disrupted the economics of literally trillions in capital investment, and severely damaged landholder relations throughout the industry. The only positive is that shale fields are really GAS fields that happen to CURRENTLY produce light oil/liquids; manage the current flow in a consolidated fashion, and you get decades of production of cheap, land-based, largely local, and clean gas as the dividend. In the US that means either kill shale via legislation (new president), or via bankruptcy and consolidation. Again, politics being the major driver. Obviously, depending on your risk tolerance, volatility is either your friend or foe. Hence, o/g, commodities, etc. is not for everyone. SD Interesting points.

This is an exciting prospect that hadn't occurred to me! Might make up for my stupidity with other investment decisions. -

>The cello makes a cameo appearance in Year of the Cat. We have no cellists at school. Everyone has a certain virtuosity. I wish the same re: investing acumen but alas, must attempt to compensate by watching & listening here. To date, I'm not doing so well but it's likely because I don't put in enough practice hours. :) Keep on smilin' (aka Don't let the markets wear you down).

Who's playing music? I'm learning Al Stewart's "Year of the Cat" & also rolling through Burgmuller's 25 Etudes. We had an aspiring cellist here but I can't remember who it is. Year_of_the_Cat.pdf

Thanks. We are doing great and not losing any sleep. Just staying informed exercising reasonable caution. +1 Yeah, I'd +1 that too. I don't want to diminish what's going on. This thing is definitely a nasty bug. But the reaction to it is definitely weird. I lived in Toronto during SARS (I actually worked on the subway during the crisis) and I lived in London during H1N1 (England was one of the harder hit places). But I don't remember anything like what is going on right now. There was a general level of concern (I started to cough in my elbow) but life pretty much went on as usual. I don't remember being any shortage of masks in the heath care sector. People definitely didn't stockpile masks. The markets certainly didn't care because we were all fucked at that point anyway. I just don't get why things are so much different this time. Social media This So basically the world would be a better place if we burned facebook and twitter to the ground and erased all trace of their existence... Include Fox news & you get a hard yes from me. I stopped visiting Twitter more than a month ago with no ill effects. Never had a FB page & don't want one. Echo chambers are bullshit. edit: I like it here on CoBF because I hear civil discourse from bulls & bears on most of what I own. That's all that matters. Politics & religion? Bah.

I expected nothing less. Wait till he takes credit for coming up with a vaccine. On second thought, maybe he'd soft pedal that since he might lose votes. www.insider.com/how-donald-trump-became-an-anti-vaccinationist-2019-9

I re-watched the Naked Gun recently. "Nice beaver" "Thanks, I just had him stuffed" Surely you can't be serious? Don't call me Shirley. What can you make of this? -

I've been drinking the Fleur De Cana 4 (white), 12 & 18 for years. It was my understanding that these are single cask & that they farm the majority of their own cane (T or F?) Either way, it's tasty. I also like Pussers, after being 1st introduced to it on Tortola with Painkillers. Last but certainly not least, when I left Rio last time, I bought 3 bottles of Havana Club 7 year anéjo (with the Cuban seal) from the duty free. I have one unopened bottle left & have been duping guests by re-filling the other 2 bottles with US bought Havana Club. I'm a deceitful host.

This may qualify. www.railwaygazette.com/business/marmon-and-wells-fargo-buy-ge-capital-rail-businesses/41444.article I don't know how many other deals have been done alongside Wells. If Omaha values deals over ownership of Wells, it seems likely they'd stay under 10% with the new rules giving them MOS against any smell tests. --- edit: Here's another deal from 2013 www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2013-07-25/berkshire-home-broker-to-take-wells-fargo-s-stake-in-venture --- Then there's comments like this which could be viewed as "managerial" www.bnnbloomberg.ca/munger-says-wells-fargo-ceo-scharf-ought-to-be-in-san-francisco-1.1389484 -

Does Alaska waive their $100 license reinstatement fee after a suspension for lapse in coverage? "When you lose your privilege to drive in Alaska for driving without insurance, the state suspends your license or privilege to drive. Your driving record will show that the state has taken action against your license. When you comply with the steps needed to get your license back, you are reinstating your driver’s license or privilege to drive." http://doa.alaska.gov/dmv/akol/fees.htm http://doa.alaska.gov/dmv/reinst/manins.htm -

I liked it too! —- Bernard Cornwell’s “Saxon Choronicles” novels (GREAT) were made into a series called “the Last Kingdom”. It’s about Alfred the great & is fleshed out with fictional characters like Uhtred, a Saxon boy who’s captured & raised by Danes & becomes Alfred’s greatest Commander in the fight against invaders. Alfred screws Uhtred over a lot. There’s 3 seasons to watch after gorging yourself on Vikings.
