Sure. But that's how Fox News, Newsmax, etc all came into being as well. Including the powerful right wing movements through Social Media. Do you think the left is winning the media battle right now? Literally every American oligarch who kowtows to Trump now controls mainstream media. When Rupert Murdoch is the paragon of independent news...well you know the left is fucked! Cheers!
-
Yeah sure...a big part of is his personality, behavior and like you said...TDS. He gets under people's skin...he's very good at it! But to say there is too much scrutiny...probably...but much of it is self-perpetuating and he's the one who got it started in the first place. Greg, he just bombed the shit out of Iran without any sort of approval...then he needs help to open up the Strait...of course, people are going to jump on that. It might be annoying, but it's not any different than if any other leader did the exact same thing...especially the "Leader of the Free World?!" Cheers!
-
Kind of like when he held on to the "birther movement" or "fake elections" like an angry pitbull ripping apart a chihuahua? Who is responsible for giving him that spotlight? Cheers!
-
Yup, he does that. Not sure it's always as intentional as you may think. Much of it is self-inflicted, much of it is calculated...hard to figure out which is which! Cheers!
-
Some of these issues are legitimate: Is there a plan? Well, the initial attacks went well, but obviously they weren't ready for the Strait to be closed otherwise they wouldn't say shit like "we've won already in the first day!" Now they need help. Do they have enough ammunition? Were they prepared for the massive amount of cheap drones used? That's not a stupid question to ask...it's a numbers game...it's a price per bullet game. People are always concerned after Vietnam or nearly 10 years in Iraq! What is the objective...when the President keeps flipping between them?! So, yeah there is a lot of bullshit thrown his way in comedic and stupid attacks, but there are a SHITLOAD of questions that are legitimate as well, that would be asked of any leader. Cheers!
-
You guys think the man can't handle the press and pressure?! He thrives on it. If he didn't have this scrutiny he would go nuts! Narcissism doesn't care what type of attention you get...as long as you are the center of attention. Cheers!
-
I think this would be the most appropriate thing to do, as well as for long-term European interests going forward. Trump has made it everyone for themselves for the most part. It will be years and only with changes in administration where things may get back to normal on some level. But the barn door was opened wide and collecting all the animals on the farm won't be easy! Cheers!
-
It was one or the other...the Gulf States know they aren't safe any more. Allegiances are fleeting when your nice way of life is at risk! Cheers!
-
You have to admit, he's more vocal and in the spotlight than any other President in history. You don't think he puts himself out there with the decisions he makes? It's like Mike Tyson biting off Holyfield's ear...you don't think people are going to notice or say anything? Hey nice move Mike! That's not legal, but nice move! That's the shit people are watching on both sides and some find it acceptable...some find it unacceptable. Not a hard reach here. Cheers!

Movies and TV shows (general recommendation thread)
Parsad replied to Liberty's topic in General Discussion
Cannot wait! This trilogy for me is in the same category as when I first saw Star Wars IV, V, VI and then the Lord of the Rings 1, 2, 3. The first group I saw when I was 8-14...the second group when I was 32-35...and now Dune 1, 2, 3 when I was 52-57! I'm roughly the same age as Denis, so I probably shared similar experiences/influences as him growing up when it came to television and movies. I'm not sure I've been more excited for a movie in a very long time! Cheers! -
You won't take our fentanyl, but you are happy with our weed and stub-neck bottle Pilsners! Cheers!

What the heck? Who the hell says anything in a "homoerotic manner" about Trump on here except Cubs? "Dear feckless leader, We appreciate your robust bottom, gluttonous appetite, and svelte figure as it shimmies to YMCA...you are truly a young man! There is this guy named "Parsad", who runs a message board that he believes is better than your ubiquitous Truth Social. Please have Hegseth drop a bomb on his BMW as he drives to a "woke" Starbucks for his daily Oat Brown Sugar Cortado...how gay! Signed your most thankful lemming, a Cubs and Trump fan for life...Mike! P.S. I also adore our documentarian First Lady...she was robbed of an Oscar on Sunday night!" Cheers!
-
C'mon, we know that Truth Social only really exists because even Elon had to occasionally delete Trump's posts, the Trump Family thought there was a vacuum where they could make some money, and no one gives Eric a social media membership! Cheers!
-
Well, maybe we take the whole West Coast and make it easy for everyone. You have terrific wines in Oregon as well, plus their weed and food trucks! Washington gives us all the Starbucks I will ever need, as well as Ivar's Seafood, Amazon and Costco! Combine that with California and we essentially would have taken half of "woke" America and saved the U.S. a ton of their ICE budget. That's a fair deal! Cheers!
-
Hell yeah! I would do that deal. Swing it Greg! Get Cubs to call his Dad and make it happen. But I'm not selling any more beer from Minnesota, Michigan or California to you guys...no more craft beers from them...and no more California wine! It all goes to Canadians! Cheers!
-
He can't TACO here...otherwise what is he going to do to distract from the Trump-Epstein files? Bomb Santa Claus and the North Pole?! Cheers!
-
LC, don't be a libtard! That "woke" BS should be "asleep"! And yes, egg prices are down...so there! Cheers!
-
Yup...definitely not when we helped land all your planes after 9/11, took Americans into our homes, fed them, looked after them and then 40,000 Canadians served in Afghanistan alone, then Iraq, Ukraine, Palestine and Israel alongside Americans...including my cousin (a Lieutenant-Colonel - Vincent Virk - see below) and our former defense minister under Trudeau (Harj Sajjan) who served three tours in Kandahar! https://www.canada.ca/en/department-national-defence/corporate/news/regional-news/western-sentinel/2025/10/awards-october-2025.html How many IDF served with you guys in Afghanistan again after 9/11? Zero! Cheers!
-
China Carney lover? What's gotten into you? Take a chill pill. Cheers!
-
What?! Cubs, you should work for Trump's PR team! Cheers!
-
LOL! Bravo! Cheers!
-
That's why I want California! Why would I want Minnesota? I don't need the Mall of America! Cheers!
-
It's weird that Trump's own psychology doesn't operate that way! He could be calling you "fat piggy" today and then wondering why you wrote an unflattering article about him tomorrow. Or he could just as easily sue you in court for $1B and then wonder why you won't sell him a piece of property he wants that you own. It's a complete disconnect...everything is transactional...no one could truly dislike him in his own head...one action is never correlated to something else he says or does (or at least he doesn't see how they would be viewed as aligned or related)! Cheers!
-
I'm not sure people are cheering it, as much as they are resigned to accept the outcome of the actions of a radical president, who went and did something without thinking through the consequences and made unilateral decisions without his allies. You make a massive mess, after alienating and targeting everyone who you now seek help from, and offer nothing in return for breaking your word in agreements, unions and partnerships that have spanned decades! Is this not essentially an Aesop's Fable come to life? Cheers!

You can't keep quoting Munger for something he said in 2016, when he did not see what Trump just did. Munger also said it would be foolish to think that China and the U.S. could not get along...it would be in the best interest of both countries. He was a pragmatist...like Franklin...and wanted society to better itself. That's not always Trump's modus operandi! Cheers!
