  1. I'm a huge fan too. Last night was great win...epecially after that ending in game 3. Go Sox!

  5. Yes...thanks. Any chance anyone has this in mp3 format? I'd love to be able to listen to it in the car.
  6. Why is he closing the allocation and income funds? They are tiny...268M and 241M respectively. Do you think he'll roll them all into the original Fairholme Fund (FAIRX)? If he doesn't any idea if you are a shareholder in say FAIRX could you swap that position with FAAFX in a year if you wanted? Or would you have to be a shareholder in each Fairholme fund before the cutoff date? Also are there any issues to owning closed funds that accepts new investments from current shareholders at a broker like Fidelity?
  7. I use http://www.dataroma.com/m/home.php to track the handful of "gurus" I think are worth watching closely. It's a very nice site and best of all...free. If you want to know as soon as a new filing is out you can setup an RSS feed of SEC filings for a particular fund. For example if you wanted to keep tabs on Bruce Berkowitz you could create an RSS feed for Fairholme Capital Management. As soon as a new filing is listed it will popup in your RSS reader of choice.
  8. I did 55% in my personal accounts and 15% in a family account I manage. My accounts are very concentrated. Bank of America and Apple were my biggest holdings / winners. The family account is more conservative and diversified. I'm dealing with what most here would consider tiny sums so nothing to really brag about. Huge thanks to all the contributors here for all the wonderful ideas and sharing.
  9. I'd be extremely disappointed as a JPM shareholder if he took the job.
  10. I use Fidelity for all my banking and brokerage account needs. I've been very happy with them. I love being able to deposit checks on my iPhone & iPad.
  11. I wouldn't consider selling until around 18. And only then if I had a much better place for the money.
  12. Reading his books right after college is what got me hooked on investing. I've probably re-read them all about 5 times. I've got a Word file with my notes on them that I review several times per year.
  13. The Bank of America Corporation Board of Directors today appointed Sharon Allen, former Deloitte LLP chairman, Jack Bovender, former HCA Inc. chairman and chief executive officer, Linda Hudson, president and CEO of BAE Systems Inc., and David Yost, former CEO of AmerisourceBergen Corp., as new directors. The appointments are effective immediately. http://newsroom.bankofamerica.com/press-release/corporate-and-financial-news/bank-america-board-appoints-four-new-directors
  14. I've been buying a little BAC, JPM, BP, PG, MBI lately...getting the urge to buy more. Thinking about a new position in AIG and adding to some others.
