  1. Past hour
  2. In past years they have tended to purchase the shares for this purpose (treasury shares to be issued later for compensation) at the beginning of the year and the shares purchased later in the year - like these recent purchases - have gone towards cancellation.
  3. The guy was in a group chat where people posted allegedly racist and nazi memes. He got charged for being in a group chat. I am sure the content was reprehensible and people can socially ostracize such folks, but there is no accusation of libel or violence so why should he be charged for a crime? Even the ACLU has a long history of defending nazi and racist rights to demonstrate so long as it's peaceful: https://www.aclu.org/news/civil-liberties/defending-speech-we-hate Free speech means you have to defend even free speech you strongly disagree with. But we all know now that Europe does not really have Free Speech so the argument is moot.
  4. Nope. It's well documented that they cannot: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple–FBI_encryption_dispute In the U.S., a warrant via a judge can allow law enforcement to get more info--that's a good hurdle to accessing data. Chat control has no such hurdles and the government can have all data of criminals and innocent people. Apple does not have the keys to its own end to end encryption. They are serious about privacy. This has been a recurring dispute and even leaders like Macron have confronted Signal, etc about this. The UK is demanding Apple weaken its encryption/install a backdoor. They cannot stand that there is data they cannot access... https://cryptobriefing.com/uk-surveillance-apple-backdoor-crypto/
  5. I don't know, @Spekulatius, But I think Mette Frederiksen for sure would prefer some heavy and soft as material for bullets, to really tear a part what's hit. But shooting isen't her preferred way of doing things, she prefers the 'Endlösung'-approach, when scale is needed [Source]. Really not hard to understand POTUS has called her 'a nasty woman' in a real estate deal, that ended up so far not to happen.
  6. I don’t know what this guy posted but how is this prosecution resulting in anything productive? These libel laws exist for good reason but now with ubiquitous social media it has become very easy to prosecute violations and to push the letter of the law much further than they were intended and that’s what is happening here.
  7. Cubs, you sent an AI video to the forum the other day and you didn’t even know it. You live in La La Land. You should try reading the WSJ or The Economist.
  8. If you commit a crime in the US the police here gets all your data on smartphones, social media etc. This is well known and documented in many prosecutions and trials.
  9. Today
  10. Turkish made gun, that looks like colt knockoff. Are these silver bullets?
  11. Seven-11 $3382T with decent results. They increased guidance. https://www.7andi.com/en/ir/file/library/ksu/pdf/2026_0709ksue.pdf Holding my few shares for now.
  12. @Dalal.Holdings, Who says this isen't *'just'* about [*'plain'*] libel?
  13. That's funny,,, Trump's trade policy was supposed to create an economic disaster. His DOGE efforts were supposed to be a waste of time and find no significant fraud, and tank the economy with unemployment. His foreign policy and Iran war was going to cause WWIII and oil going to $200. His fiscal policy was supposed to unleash devastating inflation... Instead, the US market is ripping.. I know, I know "storm clouds are on the horizon" That's what happens when you read the WSJ...LOL
  14. LOL they’re still posting stuff like this! And getting bodied in the comments
  15. Touche' John ,,,, we won't be messing with Denmark's Prime Minister !
  16. So the parliament for a bill that has failed repeatedly sneaks a vote in right before recess and it passes even though there are more nays than yays and your response is “NBD”??? LOL You are more worried about private companies like Facebook having your data than actual governments that have a track record of throwing people in prison for “wrong speech”?? Do I have that right??? What are you worried Mark Zuckerberg is going to do? Sell you more ads??? You are worried they might “sell” this data to the government, so instead you’d rather just hand the keys directly to the government??? LMAO And you are right: you can choose a different operating system or not to use facebook. If Chat Control passes, you have no choice left! The government gets everything! Your logic makes zero sense… A lot of Europeans believe fear mongering conspiracy theories about the big bad American tech companies, but then have total faith in their governments that keep deceiving them… Individual rights, privacy, and free speech are first and foremost supposed to be about protections from the government (not so much private companies). Americans are more distrustful of government and for the right reasons.
  17. Seems reasonable. Assuming BVPS ends up between $1400-1450 by year end, that’s a P/B multiple of 1.45-1.5x.
  18. France got past Morocco pretty smoothly, they sure are the team to beat in this world cup. Today we face off against Spain, probably the first match where we are the underdog. Going to be a difficult match, Spain has great possession and hasn't conceded a goal yet this tournament. If we can get ahead quickly I think we are in for a good match, if they get ahead I'm afraid we'll be struggling.
  19. I'm still sticking to my prediction of $3,000 CAD by year-end 2026. They are comfortable with their huge buybacks...there will be a surprise in the earnings in Q2 or Q3...more cash coming in than even Viking expected. Cheers!
  20. It's hilarious that any credit to the U.S. current wave of success is solely attributed to Trump. You have one of the greatest booms in human history happening in AI...as well as predicated on the enormous cash flows of the massively successful technology companies the U.S. has produced over the last 50+ years...which has been happening over numerous administrations due to the U.S. entrepreneurial and capitalistic framework Yet, every administration talks about how the country was a massive failure under the previous administration. Trump is not responsible for this boom...the United States is responsible for it! Cheers!
  21. NY like most cities was probably the wildest its ever been in the 70's and 80's. If anything, the party scene has become more timid. An easy way to see that is just by the number of strip bars and massage parlors in any major city in North America. There has been a massive decline, partly due to online porn, partly due to online hookup sites...but in general, NYC like most North American large cities is probably far more timid today than the past. I would suggest finding a partner (not necessarily a husband or wife) is more likely today than the heyday, coke-head days of the 80's. A woman can definitely go to NYC, have a great career and possibly find a suitable partner without it being only about hookups! Cheers!
  22. Mike [ @cubsfan ], From usualy reliable source, I have that Danish PM Mette Frederiksen and others in Ankara got a handgun in present from Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, so I think we better be careful with what we express here [ ] :
  23. One can buy fractional shares today in Fidelity and other platforms from the US. Don't see a reason to hold tokenized assets. HOOD has some that trade as debt https://www.techtimes.com/articles/319564/20260702/robinhood-chain-goes-live-tokenized-stocks-key-ownership-caveat.htm COIN has also launched it https://finance.yahoo.com/markets/stocks/articles/coinbase-coin-launches-tokenized-stocks-211625465.html USD tied stablecoins (~98.5% of all stablecoin transactions) are a thing though: From google: Adjusted Economic Volume: In the first half of 2026 alone, adjusted transaction volume hit $8.82 trillion. This is just $2 trillion shy of the $10.8 trillion recorded during the entire full year of 2025. Raw Settlement Volumes: Unadjusted on-chain settlement crossed $33 trillion in 2025. In Q1 2026 alone, raw transfer volume surged to a record $4.5 trillion. Monthly Peak Comparison: June 2026 set a historical record of $1.79 trillion in adjusted monthly volume. This marks an explosive 125% increase compared to the $795 billion settled in June 2025 PYUSD is now available in 70 countries https://finance.yahoo.com/news/exclusive-paypal-expands-stablecoin-access-110000435.html
  24. Check that Reddit thread again. I tried to find information about this proposal and the process, couldn't find anything in reputable sources, and there is no information about passing the law on the website of the Parliament. I don't think it's passed yet. In general I am concerned with privacy very much. But for me the Big Tech is much bigger threat than any government agency, because government has no clue about technology and Big Tech is extremely smart in abusing it. For chatting with my friends I have to use Whatsapp and Telegram. And I just have to accept that there is no privacy there, because I have zero trust in their developers. Facebook has a track record of selling private messages, and can probably sell to American Government. Durov has the same vibe and probably sells to Russian government. If I truly needed high secrecy of my communication, I would use an independent operating system and an independent encryption system with keys I can control. But messengers like that are not popular, and none of my friends use that. And again, I don't understand how this topic is an investment issue. China has Wechat and its economy is doing well: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WeChat#State_surveillance_and_intelligence_gathering
  25. That's just a technical possibility. As a developer of the operating system and the messenger which runs on it, having a system of over the air updates which the user doesn't control, they absolutely can do anything on the device without the user knowing anything about it. However Apple does have good reputation for privacy, so it's possible that they never abuse their unchecked power here. There was somewhat similar situation with Intel and their system of "Management Engine" in their CPUs. The cybersecurity community was concerned that the system could function as a backdoor: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_Management_Engine#Assertions_that_ME_is_a_backdoor . However after many years the fear didn't materialize, and it's clear that there was probably nothing like that. But the possibility is there and nobody could be sure. We can only rely on whistleblowers to prevent abuse of technology. Other companies like Facebook did abuse privacy and it is documented.
  26. Wondering how treasury share purchases appear in these sorts of reports, if at all? Is it possible that some of the shares shown as being purchased by the company could have been set aside in connection with the company’s intended use of them to add to their treasury shares for future incentive compensation purposes? I’m guessing a few hundred thousand shares per year are issued from the corporate Treasury on five year vesting schedules to employees, and I believe the company indicated that they would purchase on the open market each year the number of shares needed for that program.
